Kolette Madelo, the bubbly "Pinoy Big Brother Gen 11" ex-housemate from General Santos City, has always made it a point to show appreciation for her loyal supporters, whom she lovingly calls her "moonies." Known for her down-to-earth personality, Kolette constantly finds ways to connect with her fans and make them feel special, and recently, she thought of an exciting way to bond with them by answering their questions! It’s the next best thing to having a personal chat with the “PBB Gen 11” 3rd Big Placer and a fun way to get to know her better.

Facing the first query about what pushed her to make vlogs, Kolette shared that she had already tried vlogging even before joining “PBB Gen 11,” although her video’s quality wasn’t as good back then. But now that she has better equipment, she thought it’s the perfect time to continue what she started.

Her pre-PBB vlogs focused on school-related content, particularly about aquaculture, which was the field she was studying. For instance, she would vlog about how to properly cut and eat shrimp.

Now, in her vlog’s ‘new season,’ she plans to focus more on showcasing her daily life. With her budding showbiz career, she’s excited to share behind-the-scenes moments from her ‘ganaps’ like mall shows and other quirky adventures that her fans can look forward to.

When asked about her dream collab, whether for vlogging or performing, she revealed that her biggest inspirations are Maja Salvador and Sarah Geronimo. She dreams of working with these two artists, who have influenced her passion for both singing and dancing. If that ever happens, she says it will truly be the most unforgettable moment of her life!

Answering the next question about her closest housemates, Kolette shared that while she was close to everyone inside the Big Brother house, the ones she really bonded with the most after the show were Dingdong Bahan and Patrick Ramirez aka DongPat and Therese Villamor, who helped her adjust to her new life in Manila. Kolette admitted that transitioning from life in Bahay ni Kuya to the outside world wasn’t easy, especially since she was away from home. One of the biggest challenges was adjusting to time. The housemates were always unaware of the time as there were no clocks inside the house. Thus, she struggled with her body clock, finding it difficult to sleep properly and eat on time when she stepped out.

Another big adjustment for her was going from a simple ‘probinsyana’ lifestyle to becoming a city girl-turned-celebrity. Suddenly, people started recognizing her, and fans would approach her outside. But while it was a big shift from her quiet life before, Kolette sincerely appreciates her supporters. She also mentioned that she had the opportunity to go home to her family in GenSan and celebrate New Year with them last holiday break. 

One core memory from her PBB stint was when she unintentionally raised her voice at a co-housemate during a weekly task, saying it was a huge wake-up call for her and taught her an important lesson about being mindful of the consequences of her actions on others.

The saddest PBB memory for Kolette, however, would be every eviction. She explained that it was hard to say goodbye. People might say the housemates were ‘overacting’ whenever they cry over someone’s elimination, but Kolette shared that you’ll never truly understand how heartbreaking eviction nights can be unless you experience it yourself.

Answering a question about her plans for her showbiz career now that she’s under Star Magic, Kolette divulged that her ultimate goal is to become a total performer. She’s excited to see it slowly turning a reality, now that she’s been able to perform on the “ASAP” stage something she considers the most remarkable moment of her career since stepping out of the PBB house. On top of that, being part of the ABS-CBN Christmas Special 2024, performing a number with her fellow “PBB Gen 11” ex-housemates, was another milestone she’s proud of.

When it comes to being a celebrity, she enjoys performing and showcasing her talent to the public. It’s what she loves most about her job. However, she admitted that the hardest part of being in the spotlight is dealing with bashing and the pressure that comes with it. 

As for a misconception about her, Kolette thinks people sometimes label her as 'malandi' or too clingy with boys. She quickly clarified, though, that she’s just genuinely appreciative of the company of others, especially when they’re kind to her.

And for a little trivia about her pre-PBB life, she mentioned that she worked briefly as a virtual assistant. 

When asked what message she’d give to her younger self, she expressed, “Huwag kang susuko kasi alam mo sa sarili mo na hindi choice ang pagsuko.” This shows her strength and determination to keep going, no matter what obstacles come her way.

Before wrapping up the vlog, Kolette left her followers with a meaningful and heartfelt message. “Huwag n’yo ipahamak ang sarili n’yo nang dahil sa akin,” she said, meaning she doesn’t want her fans to put themselves in harm’s way just to defend her. If they come across any bashing or negative comments about her, she hopes they won’t engage with it. Instead, she encourages them to rise above the negativity and avoid responding to hurtful words with more hurtful words. She’d rather see her ‘moonies’ handle online negativity with kindness.
