In the almost two-year run of the action-drama series, Irma had been part of it since the first week as she played Olga, one of the main antagonists who consistently made our blood boil because of how cruel and deceitful she was. But despite being wicked, she’s the kind of villain whom we absolutely love to hate due to her excellent and impeccable performance.

Now that Olga had already bade farewell to “FPJ’ Batang Quiapo” after accidentally plunging to her death during her face-off with Tanggol (Coco Martin) at the rooftop of a high-rise structure, let’s revisit 15 of her epic scenes that showcased the caliber and range of Irma as an actress in this episode of Kapamilya Toplist.

First and foremost, the veteran actress is best known for her unmistakable flair in drama, which we got to witness a lot of times in the series. Among her most remarkable dramatic moments was when Olga’s cherished children, Greg (RK Bagatsing) and Samantha/Bubbles (Ivana Alawi), tragically died.

We indeed felt her pain as a mother upon learning about the demise of the two most important people in her life. It can be recalled that Greg perished during a bloody encounter between his and Tanggol’s groups in Quiapo in the early days of the series, but her adoptive father, Don Julio (Tommy Abuel), and brother, Ramon (Christopher de Leon), seemed to not care, so she had to endure the hurt and grieve about it all by herself. And while she hadn’t moved on from it yet, she found herself going through the same process when Samantha was killed by David (McCoy de Leon), who’s actually both her ally and enemy, as his way of heeding the wish of his grandmother-in-law, Señora Bettina (Tessie Tomas).

Aside from the demise of her children, we also got to see the dramatic chops of Irma during the other breakdown moments of Olga because of Samantha. First was when she found out that an unidentified group riddled the house of Samantha’s adoptive family with bullets that endangered their safety, which made her blame Tanggol. That incident prompted her to finally confront Samantha about their real connection, as well as to apologize to her for not being brave enough to raise her by herself and allowing her fear to take over her.

But what totally blew the minds of the viewers were Irma’s commendable dramatic performances in those scenes wherein Olga attended the funeral of Samantha and then further expressed the pain and rage she was feeling because of her daughter’s shocking demise by wreaking havoc at her home office. And recently, we got to see her in deep anguish and fury again when she visited the graves of her dearly departed and found out that Samantha’s remains were not there.

Her depiction of Olga’s wrath and agony during her intense confrontation scene with Don Julio, in which she attempted to murder him by forcing him to take a poisonous chemical and strangling him, was also absolutely laudable because we really felt her in that scene. She might be despicable, and what she did was indeed horrible, yet viewers arguably couldn’t help but empathize with her at the time as she expressed how she strongly resented him and Ramon. But prior to that, we all know that she already tried to end the old man’s life a number of times but didn’t succeed.

Apart from her dramatic moments, we also found Olga’s confrontation scenes with David unforgettable, not only because their exchanges were scorching but also because Irma was able to showcase how an effective kontrabida she indeed is. We also got to see this during Olga’s unexpected face-off with Marcelo (Nonie Buencamino), her former beau and the biological father of Samantha.

And lastly, Irma’s stint as a kontrabida in the series wouldn’t have been complete without her doing action scenes, which she was able to pull off amazingly! While we already saw her brandish and shoot guns, viewers were surely astonished when she did a few stunts in one of her most recent scenes with fellow veteran star Christopher de Leon as Olga and Ramon figured in an altercation.

She might be one of the most ‘nakakagigil’ and ‘nakaka-high blood’ villains we’ve ever encountered over the years of watching teleseryes, but Olga will still be sorely missed. Thank you and congratulations for another commendable and remarkable portrayal, Ms. Irma Adlawan!
