The long wait is finally over for Kapamilyas all over the world as ABS-CBN finally dropped its highly anticipated ABS-CBN Christmas ID 2024 entitled “Our Stories Shine This Christmas” on Monday, December 2, across its television and online platforms.  

Once again, the spotlight is on the inspiring stories of unwavering hope and genuine love that many of us have probably encountered this year, as well as on the people at the center of those, thus the over 25-minute video commenced with a statement that read, “Mga kwento ng pag-ibig at pag-asa ang liwanag natin ngayong Pasko.” 

Leading the all-star chorus in singing this heartwarming masterpiece were some of the brightest and most talented singers and recording artists in the OPM scene, including Vice Ganda, Anne Curtis, Kim Chiu, Darren Espanto, Ogie Alcasid, Regine Velasquez-Alcasid, Gary Valenciano, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Martin Nievera, Piolo Pascual, Erik Santos, Angeline Quinto, John Arcilla, Jed Madela, Yeng Constantino, Sarah Geronimo, Bamboo, Coco Martin, and BINI.  

The first story to be highlighted was of hardworking breadwinners in the family like student-rider JV Ambrosio, who got to watch the special advance screening of the 2024 Metro Manila Film Festival entry “And The Breadwinner Is…” topbilled by Vice Ganda, along with the other madlang breadwinners. They were then surprised by the Unkabogable Star herself, who spearheaded her “It’s Showtime” family in giving each one of them noche buena packages.  

In view of their impressive premiere in a digital streaming platform, the lead cast of “Saving Grace” Sharon Cuneta, Julia Montes, and Janice de Belen showed their support to single mom Elaine de Leon and her three-year-old daughter Jillianne Zoe as they battle the little girl’s leukemia.   

While the two stories exemplified love shared between family members, “Lavender Fields” lead star Jodi Sta. Maria imparted to us the heartwarming story of Carlos Orit, an old man who have found a family in rescue dogs after being orphaned at an early age. His photo was shared on social media by Dr. Laureen Velasco, a member of the De La Salle University-Professors for the Upliftment of Society’s Animals (DLSU-PUSA) and touched a lot of hearts since then. Together with her “Lavender Fields” co-stars Jodi Sta. Maria, Jericho Rosales, Janine Gutierrez, and Maricel Soriano—who are proud pet owners as well—gifted Tatay Carlos and his furbabies food supplies and other special gifts.  

Asia’s Superstar Kathryn Bernardo then introduced us to the inspiring story of alopecia warrior April Doria, who in spite of losing her crowning glory, still chooses to move forward in life and embrace her true self. April received words of encouragement from Anne Curtis, Carlo Aquino, and Joshua Garcia, the main cast of the upcoming series “It’s Okay To Not Be Okay.”  Along with their castmates, they also underwent mental health exercise facilitated by Mental Health PH.  

Over the past months, we’ve certainly heard or read the incredible story of Hernando “Mang Nanie” Guanlao, a literacy and education advocate who transformed his own home into a public library. Thus, to further grow his collection, which some he and his volunteers donate to less privileged children, the ABS-CBN News Team donated bundles of books to his organization.  

Prior to their anticipated airing next year, the lead cast of “Incognito” led by Richard Gutierrez, Daniel Padilla, and Ian Veneracion, in cooperation with the Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP), provided grocery packages to the Civil Military Operations Group of the Philippine Navy. 

The “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo” family, led by Coco Martin, also gave away Pamaskong Handog for typhoon victims after attending a mass together in Quiapo Church.  

We also got to see “Magandang Buhay” momshies Jolina Magdangal, Regine Velasquez, and Melai Cantiveros together, as well as the stars of upcoming series “What Lies Beneath,” “Nobody,” and “How To Spot A Red Flag,” news anchors of “TV Patrol,” and mainstays of “ASAP” and iWant ASAP.  

The Star Magic family spearheaded by Laurenti Dyogi were also there, along with the families of Star Music, Star Pop, Rise Artists, Showtime Online U, ANC, and “Zoomers.” Knowledge Channel Foundation President Rina Lopez and ABS-CBN Foundation frontrunners Ernie Lopez and Michelle Arville were also part of ABS-CBN Christmas ID 2024. 

Kapamilya stars wh are also present in the music video were Sylvia Sanchez, Arjo Atayde, Donny Pangilinan, Belle Mariano, Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo, James Reid, Iza Calzado, Ivana Alawi, Enrique Gil, Paulo Avelino, “Rainbow Rumble” host Luis Manzano and Negi, BGYO (who even busted their choreography to the song and did a special shoutout to the ACEs), Robi Domingo, Edward Barber, Kyle Echarri, Maymay Entrata, AC Bonifacio, Seth Fedelin and Francine Diaz, Dimples Romana, Andrea Brillantes, Barbie Imperial, Jane Oineza, Harvey Bautista, Ronnie Alonte, and Bianca Gonzalez.  

The “Pinoy Big Brother Gen 11” housemates joined the assembly of Kapamilya employees, artists, and bosses, with the Big 4 Fyang Smith, Rain Celmar, Kolette Madelo, and Kai Montinola having their separate moment. 

ABS-CBN Creative Communication Management Head Robert Labayen was also part of it, as well as Rev. Fr. Tito Caluag and the ABS-CBN Chapel Choir. People from the regional offices of ABS-CBN and Kapamilyas from various provinces of the Philippines and countries in the world showed their solidarity by appearing in the music video, too!  

Of course, what’s an ABS-CBN Christmas ID without the presence of the Big 3 bosses of the company, none other than President and CEO Carlo L. Katigbak, Chairman Mark L. Lopez, and Chief Operating Officer Cory V. Vidanes, right? The three of them were cladded in the colors of ABS-CBN blue, green, and red.  

Following the consecutive successes, they reaped in the past year, not to mention their three-day sold-out concert at the Araneta Coliseum, there’s definitely no doubt that the portion of BINI is among the much-awaited. Ardent fans were truly astonished that our beloved OT8 (one true eight) rapped and even showcased their kakulitan while performing their part. 

The ABS-CBN Christmas ID commenced with the lighting up of the ELJCC building in the colors of Christmas.
