We’re able to get to know “Pinoy Big Brother Gen 11,” 4th Big Placer Kai Montinola a bit more as she took on the “Assumptions About Me” Challenge, in which she exuded eloquence and wit in responding to the netizens’ suppositions about her.  

Kai started off by reacting to the comment “strong personality,” which she couldn’t say is a fact, yet what she’s certain of is that she is a strongminded person. 

Many have also tagged her as a role model and independent person, to which she commented, “I try to be. I’m only 17. I do things that normal people do kaya I think I’m a great role model din naman for our generation. Meanwhile, she tries to be an independent young woman as much as she wants to be one, but it’s still inevitable for her to be dependent sometimes because of her age. 

It can be recalled that during the finale week of “PBB Gen 11,” her fellow Big 4 Fyang Smith, Rain Celmar, and Kolette Madelo voted her as the most “madiskarte” among them. Well, Kai admitted that it’s something that she already knows to herself and she is very proud of that. 

“I think, totoo. Kasi when there’s a goal, I want to think, ‘How am I gonna achieve this? How am I gonna do it?’ Sometimes, I just don’t even think about it; I’m just gonna do it. That’s quite impulsive kaya palagi ko siyang iniisip, especially sa Bahay ni Kuya, with the tasks and everything, I try to think about it before I do it or say it,” she said. 

And playing badminton has probably something to do with her being madiskarte when it comes to tasks and challenges, as Kai gave herself a rating of 7 out 10 after someone assumed that she’s an ace player in badminton. She may not be one of the best, but she firmly believes that she can smash and read the moves of her opponent. 

With regard to being “so genuine and super matalino,” the Cebuana stunner remarked, “I would agree that I am genuine. I think, everything I do and everything I say is genuine. Talagang mini-mean ko siya to the heart.”

Then she continued, “Pero sa super matalino, there are different types of smart. That can be IQ, EQ, there are just many types of smart. I would say, I’m smart in different ways and other people can be smart in different ways.”

Someone then commented about her being “the next Lea Salonga,” which made “Ang Singing Gwapa ng Cebu” squeal probably out of utter kilig. Well, with how she’s already gone far in her life and in her career, who would not want to follow in the footsteps of the Broadway Diva, right? 

“That’s kind of a dream before I thought it was a bit too high to reach. Pero nandito na ako ngayon, so I’m just gonna focus on that and maybe, hopefully, I will be able to reach the same level as Lea Salonga or maybe even go over that,” Kai imparted. 

Aside from being a multifaceted performer, her supporters believe that she can also be a beauty queen. Kai revealed that she actually gets a lot of comments about her joining beauty pageants or becoming a model, especially during their family gatherings, yet she maintains that she has to think about it first. 

“If the opportunity comes to me, I will take it. But to be a beauty queen or to join beauty pageants is not just for looks or it’s just because there’s a potential that you can. It’s more of a responsibility din to join beauty pageants, for me lang. Kasi if I’m gonna join a beauty pageant, I‘m gonna have to be super responsible. It’s a big responsibility talaga.”

She went on to mention the ever-famous quote from a “Spiderman” movie that was uttered by one of its significant characters, Uncle Ben, which was, “With great power comes great responsibility.”

And lastly, when it comes to being “so realistic, mature, and humble,” Kai said that she tries to adjust while still being herself. Many may see her mature for her age, but she cannot consider herself completely mature since there are things that she still has to learn and experience. Meanwhile, she agrees that she’s indeed humble, which she thinks is something that every person should possess because it’s a basic human respect to be humble with everyone around us.
