With Eddie Gutierrez and Annabelle Rama as his parents, it didn’t come as a huge surprise that Richard Gutierrez started his acting career at a very young age, not to mention as a toddler, alongside his twin brother Raymond. 

In the more than three decades that he’s been in show business, he’s been able to prove that he indeed is one of the most admired and most talented actors in the country through the series of movies and teleseryes that he has starred in, as well as the multiple recognitions and awards that he has received.

But aside from the characters that he portrays onscreen, there’s another important role that Richard also carries out so impressively—being a hands-on dad to his beloved children Zion and Kai. We may not see them often on television, yet the photos of the three of them that Richard has posted on social media and we’ve collated in this gallery suggest that they actually have close-knit ties. 

Despite his busy schedule at work, Richard makes sure to still spend quality time with his two boys during his days off by going on road trips and adventures with them, going on playdates and quick getaways with them, accompanying them to their extracurricular activities like football games, and celebrating special occasions with them and his side of the family.

Aside from making time for them, Richard has always been expressive of his love for his sons, which he’s able to show through his poignant tributes for each of them on their birthdays. 

Just like when Kai marked his 12th birthday last April and he posted a gallery of their bonding moments together, to which he attached a heartwarming caption. 

Richard wrote, “Through all the highs and lows, you’ve always been right there by my side, with your big, kind heart. I’m so proud of the person you’re growing into, and I want you to know I’m always rooting for you, every step of the way. I will always have your back, Zion. Keep being you, son. The world is brighter with you in it.”

He also did the same when his other son, Kai, turned 7 last March. The proud and loving dad told his bunso, “To my youngest son whose infectious smile and limitless energy lights up every room, always remember that we love you, keep being yourself, and keep being awesome. Always protect your kind heart and good intentions. Dad will always have your back. I love you, Kai.”
