Before there were superseryes, there was Krystala where it all began.

First aired in ABS-CBN on October 11, 2004, Krystala has become an icon of an empowered Filipino woman. Judy Ann Santos as Krystala, was joined by Ryan Agoncillo, TJ Trinidad, Pokwang, Emilio Garcia, Chin Chin Gutierrez, Desiree Del Valle, and other prime actors and actresses. Its last episode aired on April 22, 2005.

The story is about a young woman named Tala who left her Madulom tribe to save the world from evil spirits and evildoings. She transformed into the superheroine Krystala when she accidentally unearthed a crystal that contained the spirit of the sorceress, Luwalhati. Luwalhati was imprisoned inside the crystal for hundreds of years by the evil Harimon. Harimon and his people resurfaced to accomplish the plan of bringing evil doings to the human world. Tala pledged to Luwalhati that she will save the world and protect the helpless from Harimon to the best that she can. However, she cannot fulfill her promise if she remains a human being. To defeat Harimon, she needs to surpass his power. And to do this, Tala needs to transform into Krystala who is clad with gold and blue body-hugging suit. In her quest for defeating the evils, she discovered more about her real mother named “Zorah.” Zorah became possessed by Harimon’s spirit and abandoned her as a child. When Tala was deserted by her mother, she was then found by a couple named Aleta and Joram of the Madulom tribe and took her as their own.
