From the moment we met Myrtle, it was clear her heart has always belonged to JP. Even when they were kids, her feelings for him were special, but the heartbreaking part is JP only sees her as a friend—or worse, just someone he barely notices. At a party at the Buenavidez mansion, Myrtle noticed JP's emotions clearly heavy with the weight of his family issues. In the middle of their emotional talk in the garden, they witnessed a man pointing a gun at someone. JP, ever impulsive, hurled a stone to distract the armed man. You know it’s love when jealousy rears its head, and she couldn’t hide her envy when he took an interest in the new student, Mirasol (Jana Agoncillo). When JP introduced himself to Mira with a smile that was way too charming for Myrtle’s comfort, she butted in, declaring herself as JP’s “best friend.”

Myrtle remained JP's constant through his family struggles. When JP clashed with his father, Patrick (Justine Luzares), over deeply rooted issues, she was the first to check in on him through a video call. She assured him that he wasn’t alone and encouraged him to make amends. When he turned the question back to her, asking if their friendship was okay, her sweet smile betrayed the fact that JP’s simple concern was enough to keep her delusion of love alive. It was even so easy for her to volunteer to help with his school assignments.

In one volleyball match at school, Gio outplayed JP and secured the win. JP was bitter about losing, but Myrtle never stopped cheering him on.
