The PBB Gen 11 ex-housemate dazzled her KAImates with stunning performances and kilig surprises at the SM North EDSA Skydome last June 28 and talks with One Music PH.

Beyond her colorful journey inside the Pinoy Big Brother House is a girl who strives to become a singer and have her own album. The talented Cebuana girly is finally achieving her dreams one step at a time—a one night celebration that fans will surely gonna remember.

With her sparkling outfits on stage, Kai Montinola launched her album titled “Kailedidoscope” on Kai’s The Limit Album Launch at the SM North EDSA Skydome, which marked her debut as a singer. This seven-track extended play (EP) explores the beauty of love, essence of self-worth and emotional growth as a woman.

When asked by One Music PH what she feels now that she finally launched her album—she felt so surreal. “The last time I felt this way was big night pa eh, it's been quite a long time din na nakita ko lahat ng supporters ko na pumunta. So, I felt like, oh my gosh, oo nga no. They also enjoy the songs and the performance,” she shared.

Kai also shared she enjoys the overall process and creation, as since then she already dreamed of having an album.

“To have this album lunch finally happen, gosh! I would say, ito yung process na nagustuhan ko the most kasi naibahagi ko at nai-share ko sa iba't ibang mga tao sa buong Pilipinas, and even worldwide. Some people went to the Philippines talaga to see this performance.”

The event started with a pre-show featuring Star Music's newest hip-hop artist, MAVEN, serenading the crowd with his new single “Dito Ka Muna.” Certtified hitmaker singer-songwriter Trisha Denise also took up the stage with her song “Mas Mabuti Pa.”

A little fan fact, Trisha wrote three songs for Kai’s album, namely, “Overthink,” “No Conversation,” and “Kung Puwede,” the latter of which she co-wrote with Jeremy G.

Kai lit up the stage anew as she showcased her amazing cover of Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way.” She also performed “Hay Naku,” which is the only track from her EP that has Bisaya lyrics—highlighting her Cebuana roots. Apart from that, "No Conversation" was also a definite favorite on the setlist.

Shifting the mood of the event, wearing her red dress filled with heart shapes—Kai performed “Self Love Era,” that conveys a message of setting aside the love and choosing to love everything about yourself more.

In fact, she told in an one-on-one with One Music PH that the special thing that she loves the most about herself is her own self-awareness.

“I think with self-awareness, I will be able to develop and grow more as a person. Kasi, you know, we all make mistakes and we all have wins and losses. And siguro when you're aware of that, mas na-analyze at mas na-assess mo ang gagawin mo pa in the future. So with (the song) self-love era, I do love my self-worth.”

Her co-Star Magic artist, Esang, also performed on stage making the crowd feel the beauty of underwater with her cover of the song “Part of Your World.”

Adding a kilig factor, her co-star in a recent episode of Maalaala Mo Kaya, Kyle Echari, joined her on stage covering one of the tracks from the hit Disney movie High School Musical entitled, “Something New.” She shared that Kyle helped and guided her throughout her new journey as an actress and singer, making her feel more comfortable.

“So, I'm thankful na somehow, in some way, na i-guide niya ako as a baguhan pa lang. He made me sure na I’m comfortable, and I don’t feel as if I should look down on myself kasi baguhan lang ako. No, I never felt that way, and I felt very comfortable kasi he’s always making sure na I’m okay,” she said.

Not only that, Jarren Garcia sings along with her on stage with “Shooting Star,” which is a collaboration track from her album.  This made their fans go wild as they chant their names non-stop.

Kai also performed the other tracks from her album such as “Overthink,” and “For You," and “Kung Puwede.” But what made the night more stellar and surprised the fans is when she covers the OPM classic “Bituin Walang Ningning” by the mega star, Sharon Cuntena and a Broadway classic “On My Own” by Lea Salonga.

The success of the album wouldn’t be possible without her fans, KAImates. And if she could describe the spectacular night and experience in one word, that would definitely be ‘unlimited.’

“You are your own limit. You limit yourself whether you want to limit yourself or not. And it's unlimited because anything, you put anything to your mind, you're able to do it as long as you put your heart and soul.”

Kai Montinola’s “Kailedidoscope” album is now out on all digital streaming platforms, listen to it and let yourself delve into her unique music and sound.
