Dingdong Dantes, much loved and respected in the Philippine movie industry, has time and again starred in films under the banner of Star Cinema, resulting in some of the most brilliant and successful collaborations.

Even way before the record-breaking 2023 Metro Manila Film Festival entry “Rewind”, where he starred with his wife, the equally outstanding Marian Rivera, Dingdong’s Star Cinema projects have seen him taking on a range of main roles that always showcased his versatility.

This year, before you watch him alongside the iconic Charo Santos-Concio in their upcoming film “Only We Know”, let’s rewind and enjoy Dingdong’s lead performances in these Star Cinema movies!  

As Ivan in ‘Segunda Mano’ (2011)

In “Segunda Mano”, Mabel (Kris Aquino) and her loved ones experience strange and haunting occurrences after she purchases a secondhand bag. Dingdong plays Ivan, Mabel’s partner who hides secrets of his own. 

As Edward in ‘One More Try’ (2012) 

In this romantic drama, Dingdong plays Edward whose marriage with Jacqueline (Angelica Panganiban) is put to the test after his ex-lover Grace (Angel Locsin) reconnects with him. Edward learns that he’s the biological father of Grace’s son Botchok (Miguel Vergara), who is afflicted with a rare disease that could only be cured with stem cells from a biological sibling. This means Edward and Grace, both already committed to different partners, must conceive another child to save their son. 

As Wacky in ‘She’s the One’ (2013) 

In this friends-to-lovers romantic film, Dingdong Dantes plays Wacky, a television host who helps a young man named David (Enrique Gil) get the girl of his dreams — but the girl turns out to be Wacky’s best friend Cat (Bea Alonzo)! When things start to get real between Cat and David, Wacky finally realizes that Cat may be the love of his life all along. 

As Geoff in ‘The Unmarried Wife’ (2016)


Dingdong and Angelica Panganiban once again play a married couple facing a rough patch in “The Unmarried Wife”. Anne (Angelica Panganiban) is fed up with her husband Geoff’s (Dingdong Dantes) track record of infidelity and inability to shake this off. When she meets Bryan (Paulo Avelino) at her mother’s (Irma Adlawan) birthday party, they grow close and start falling in love. This poses as a hindrance to any chance of reconciliation between Anne and Geoff. 

As Bryan in ‘Seven Sundays’ (2017)


In this family drama, Dingdong plays Bryan, the second child among the four Bonifacio siblings (Aga Muhlach, Cristine Reyes, and Enrique Gil) and who is a successful businessman. When Bryan learns that his father Manuel (Ronaldo Valdez) is terminally ill and has little time left to live, he offers to help to the best of his abilities. Despite his sincerity, his siblings, particularly his older brother Allan (Aga Muhlach), mistake his intentions as showing off.
