MANILA -- Angelika Sam, one of the songwriters behind BINI’s biggest hit “Pantropiko,” steps into the spotlight as the leader of her own girl group VVINK.

VVINK officially debuted their first single “Tulala” along with its accompanying visual on Thursday in Quezon City.

The mirrored letters form a “W,” representing the wins that come from grit, growth, and rising after setbacks.

“Spelled with two Vs, the name VVINK symbolizes “double victory” and second chances. The name honors their journey,” explained Flip CEO Jell Mateo.

Each member Angelika, Jean, Ayaka, Odri, and Mariel took their share of hits, from losing out in auditions and being eliminated in competitions such as "The Voice Kids," "Little Ms. Philippines," and "Mini Ms. U" before being handpicked by FlipMusic.

“Kami ni Mariel nag-'Voice Kids,' same season kami,” Jean recalled in an interview.

“Nag-join po ako search for next P-pop Idol, nagkaroon ako P-pop girl group dati,” Angelika added.

Each member of VVINK comes into the spotlight with a history of perseverance. Brought together with intention, the group is made up of artists who have faced setbacks and chosen to rise.

The group’s pre-debut release, “WINK: The Pre-Debut Album,” introduced each member through two solo tracks — a bold creative move that gave fans a first glimpse into their individual voices and artistry.

Their debut marks not just the launch of a group, but the reinvention of five girls chasing a dream with everything they’ve got.

“I almost gave up, second chance po talaga,” main dancer Odri added.

“Nawala na fire ko sa singing, ta's I got the message doon bumalik fire,” Mariel added.
