MANILA -- Former “Pinoy Big Brother” housemate Kai Montinola is set to hit a new milestone in her career as she launches her first-ever album through a concert titled “Kai’s The Limit” happening on June 28.

In an exclusive interview with ABS-CBN News, Montinola shared her excitement about finally stepping into the music scene professionally.

While the album title is still under deliberation, Montinola gave a glimpse of what fans can expect -- seven tracks with a unique mix of genres and languages.

“There are different songs talaga. It’s of different genres and of different languages or even dialects,” she explained.

Proudly raised in Cebu, Montinola revealed that her roots play a big role in her music. “I’m from Cebu and I would want to represent that I’m Cebuana and I’m proud to be Cebuana. Therefore, you might be able to hear a song of mine that will be in Bisaya.”

Although none of the songs in the album are her original compositions, Montinola hinted at possibly using her own songs in future collaborations. “I have written a couple of songs before. And I plan to maybe use one of my compositions with different artists—maybe not in this album, but soon.”

Montinola also expressed admiration for her fellow PBB Big 4 housemates — Kolette Madelo, Fyang Smith, and Rain Celmar — who have also ventured into music.

“Very proud kasi sa bahay lang naman, andun, tambay lang kami… nag-aaway pa sa bread. Just look at us now—having our own individual concerts for our albums. We’re going on our own paths and ventures in life as artists. Hopefully, people will support us,” she said.

While singing remains her first love, Montinola is also embracing acting. “I’m diving into the world of acting which I’m starting to love. I want to learn more about the craft and maybe even progress more as an artist, especially in acting,” she said.

She will soon be seen in the Cinemalaya entry “Child No. 82,” where she stars alongside fellow ex-housemate JM Ibarra.

“We did Cinemalaya together titled 'Child No. 82' and that will be coming actually very soon. It’s my first actual taping experience. I really found it enjoyable — the acting, the waiting game, and the whole process,” she said.
