South Korean singer-actor IU is preparing to release new music this May, accompanied by a music video that features heartthrob Cha Eun-woo, according to a report.

IU's agency, EDAM Entertainment, confirmed earlier stories that the "Love Wins All" hitmaker is eyeing to make a comeback in May, according to a report from K-pop news website Soompi.

"IU is currently preparing a new album, with the goal of a release in May,” EDAM said, as per the Soompi article.

EDAM also confirmed Eun-woo — star of dramas such as "My ID Is Gangnam Beauty" and "True Beauty" — would make a cameo appearance in a music video for the comeback.

In February, IU and Cha Eun-woo worked together on a campaign for a jewelry brand.

The upcoming release marks IU's return to music after more than a year, following her extended play "The Winning," which was released in February 2024.

Earlier this year, IU, whose real name is Lee Ji-eun, starred in the hit Netflix drama "When Life Gives You Tangerines."

Last week, Eun-woo also made headlines after his agency confirmed he had applied to serve in the military band for his mandatory service.
