MANILA -- Singer-actress Jennylyn Mercado is finally dropping her new single titled "Ayaw Pang Umuwi" under Star Music this Friday.

This was announced by ABS-CBN's record label on Tuesday via a social media post as it also welcomed Mercado to the Star Music family.

"Welcome to the Star Music family, Jennylyn Mercado! Catch Jennylyn's upcoming single under Star Music, dropping this Friday on all streaming platforms!" it said. 

In 2023, Mercado shared that she is now part of Star Music and expressed excitement to release songs under her new label.

In April 2024, Mercado teased her fans about her upcoming album as she uploaded a photo of her inside a recording studio with ABS-CBN Music creative director Jonathan Manalo.

Aside from being an actress, Mercado is also a recording artist. In September 2017, she released her single "Merry Christmas, Darling."

This is not the first time that Mercado, a Kapuso star, is doing a project with ABS-CBN. In 2016, Mercardo starred with actor John Lloyd Cruz in the Star Cinema movie "Just the Three of Us."
