Philippine music channel MYX has officially unveiled its new generation of video jocks (VJs) in an exciting launch event held on April 2 outside the ELJ Building at the ABS-CBN compound.

Marking a fresh chapter for the channel, the newly-introduced VJs — Jarren Garcia, Robbie Jaworski, Kring Prologo, Ozzie Llige, Eya Almamari, and Ella Regudo — shared their excitement about joining MYX and carrying forward its legacy.

“Sobrang saya and, sabi nga kanina ni Robbie, we’re honored. Iba ‘yung legacy na binuo ng MYX in the past years, so for us to carry the torch, for us to carry that legacy and also build another set of history, iba ‘yung level ng honor also pressure, pero masaya and excited kami,” VJ Kring told PUSH ABS-CBN in an exclusive interview.

Before joining MYX, VJ Kring was a freelance host, community broadcaster, and voice-over artist. She graduated from the University of the Philippines Los Baños.

VJ Eya, a former Miss Philippines Earth - Air 2021 and a student at the University of the Philippines Manila, also expressed her enthusiasm.

“I feel like we’ll bring a lot, because for all of us this has been a dream. We literally grew up with MYX kaya feel ko rin generation MYX. Kami ‘yung lumaki with MYX and now we’ll put a lot of passion into this work because we definitely not only love Filipino music, but music is everything,” she stated.

Ozzie, a former UAAP correspondent, commercial model, and event host, acknowledged the impact of previous MYX VJs, saying, “We’re coming after the likes of Robi Domingo, Heart Evangelista — so I think we’re just gonna enjoy the experience and learn from each other.”

The new VJs will be joining longtime MYX VJ Samm Alvero, bringing in fresh energy and a new dynamic to the channel. Dubbed the “Gen MYX VJs,” they aim to represent the new generation by embracing modern trends, global reach, and digital platforms in the music field.

“We are the new gen of MYX VJs, so now kami po ‘yung nagre-represent ng new generation, Gen Z energy.  Also, everything about new gen MYX is that we’re adapting to what’s new,” VJ Kring explained. “We’re going global, we’re going livestream.”

For VJ Ella, one of the most exciting aspects of their new roles is interacting with local and international artists.

“We all know we’re looking forward to it kasi lahat kami lumaki don sa MYX Daily Top 10. Iyan ‘yung inaabangan natin. Na-le-late tayo sa school para diyan sa MYX Daily Top 10, hands down,” she said.

Ella is a writer, a student at Adamson University, and a former UAAP courtside reporter.

Adding the newest flavor to the beloved Filipino music channel, the new gen MYX VJs promise to give a new but familiar and relatable vibe for avid fans and music lovers.

“Abangan niyo po kami (as) we’re bringing a lot of fun to you guys. We’re gonna bring a fresh feel and, as new MYX gen VJs, we’re bringing all new generations,” former Pinoy Big Brother Gen 11 housemate-turned-MYX VJ Jarren said.

New artist Robbie Jaworski echoed this sentiment, saying, “MYX fans, we are here with the same reason you are: because we love music, we love connecting and we love making memories. So, let’s make memories together, enjoy this journey together, and keep on listening to music with MYX, new gen MYX.”

The new VJs will host MYX’s latest programs and nationwide music events, available on SKYcable channel 23, Cignal channel 150, various cable operators, and digital platforms like YouTube and Amazon Prime.
