Tiara Shaye and Fana won the PhilPop Himig Handog award at the finals night, besting 11 other entries with their song ”Wag Paglaruan“.

The songwriter of the winning track, Tiara Shaye, revealed that she was not originally meant to be one of the interpreters of the song.

“Honestly, meron po talagang mga interpreters na dapat kasama ni Fana. Kaya lang, ako lang yung ako na yung naging available. I think si Lord na nag-plano na parang God's will talaga na parang bagay sa’min. Friendship goals na i-perform yung song,” Tiara Shaye mentioned.

She added that Fana was the perfect artist to interpret ”Wag Paglaruan”.

“Si Fana, siya talaga. Talagang destined siya for my song. And ayan, I'm just so glad that I can also share my talent as a singer. I performed with her. And this is life-changing for me. It's my first time to join any competition,” the singer-songwriter expressed.

Tiara Shaye went on to reveal how everything felt like an answered prayer: “Masasabi ko, hashtag friendship goals itong nangyari sa amin. Kasi talagang totoo yun eh. Ang pinagdasal ko talaga noon is sana bigyan niya ako ng perfect na interpreter para sa song ko. Kahit sino, basta yung tipong mamahalin yung song ko, yung tipong ibibigay niya yung best sa song ko. Yung tipong lagi siyang proud sa song ko. And hindi ako nagkamali.”

Tiara Shaye also expressed their gratitude to all the shows and platforms that highlighted the song’s story and their friendship, including the TFC talk show BRGY.

“Super ganda nung experience namin sa lahat ng promotion na ginawa namin, especially sa BRGY. Kasi yung sa BRGY, mas personal siya. And na-share namin yung story namin as an artist and kung paano din yung friendship namin,” she pointed out.

Meanwhile, reality singing contest veteran Fana also shared how the win is something they manifested and worked hard for.

“Talagang minamanifest na po namin ito simula pa lang kasi sobrang ganda naman talaga po nung awitin. And ngayon, sobrang saya lang kasi lahat ng effort na ginawa namin is, ayun, ito na po yung reward. Kaya, ayun, thankful po kami,” Fana expressed.
