P-pop boy group VXON gets bold and slams fake people in their new song 'TABI TABI.'

In an exclusive interview with PUSH ABS-CBN at Cornerstone Entertainment’s Relapse Night Live in Quezon City, the group opened up about the true meaning behind the track.

“Yung ‘Tabi Tabi’ po is a track about calling out fake people. So meron tayong mga tao na na-encounter sa buhay na they do not seem yung how they present themselves. Parang behind all of those facade, merong something na very dark, na kapag kunwari akala mo kaibigan mo, yun pala may sinasabing mga bad stuff about you,” VXON’s Franz revealed.

Franz, who also wrote the song, further explained how the track serves as a powerful statement against fake behavior.

“This is a wake-up call na song sa mga tao na nagpapakita ng mga fake behavior towards people. And we do not support that. Parang this is an expression of disappointment dun sa ganong behavior,” he added.

Fellow member Sam shared how 'TABI TABI' serves as an outlet for the group to also express themselves.

“Doon namin na-express yung emotions namin kasi kami as a group, kapag may galit kami to someone or something, usually, nag-talk lang kami inside. Tapos, hindi kami talaga yung naging-engage sa ganon. So, ’Tabi Tabi’ is like a symbol for us to really let go and let karma do its thing,” Sam expressed.

Meanwhile, Franz shared how the title also reflects Filipino culture.

“Yung tabi-tabi is a phrase that we use in Filipino culture whenever we pass by mga bukid, talahiban, gubat, as a sign of respect sa mga supernatural entities like yung mga nuno sa punso. So taking that culture and putting that into our new song, parang in-innovate namin yung phrase na yun,” he said.

The songwriter added how proud they are whenever they incorporate Filipino elements into their songs.

“It is taking a Filipino (element) to a new form of art. So, we're very proud of it. Kasi nasimulan namin siya sa ‘Saksak sa Puso’, which is also a part of Filipino culture. And ayun, parang we always want to incorporate some sprinkle of Filipino culture and turn it into something new, turn it into something innovative sa music,” Franz explained.

In the meantime, VXON has already released the performance video for their song 'Tabi Tabi,' which has garnered over 30,000 views as of this writing.
