Young Filipino singer-songwriter MRLD, whose real name is Meriel de Jesus, successfully held her first solo concert titled 7th Sense on Sunday, April 27 at the Skydome at SM North EDSA, Quezon City.

The concert featured a fresh arrangement of her previously released singles as well as tracks from her debut album, 7th Sense. Opening the night were OPM acts Healy After Dark and girl group G22. MRLD was also joined onstage by fellow artists Ryannah J and Adie for special collaborative performances.

She also gave a special shoutout to her Indonesian fans, saying, “Noong nalabas yung album, sobra silang nagshow ng love. To my Indonesian fans, thank you so much. Babalik ako dyan (I’ll be returning back to Indonesia soon).”

“It all started with something I couldn't quite put into words, just a quiet feeling pulling me in. And one night, when everyone else was asleep, I opened my phone and hit record and sang from my heart,” she said in a voice over. “(It’s) just me singing covers in my room wondering… I just kept singing.”

For her first surprise, MRLD invited singer Ryannah Julia onstage to perform an unreleased track, “Kundikaw.” As per MRLD, she chose Ryannah to sing the song with her as she thinks the song fits with Ryannah.

She continued her set with “Opposites,” “Just Because,” and “Maligayang Pagkunwari.” One of the emotional highlights was her performance of “Hanggang Sa Magsawa,” the first song she ever produced.

“It was my Mom and Dad’s first time watching me perform… She wasn’t my first fan actually pero hanggang ngayon nandyan siya para sumuporta,” she said before singing “Dear You,” a song she wrote for her mother, followed by “Sagot,” a song dedicated to her fans.

“Way back pandemic days, aprang halos matagal na iyon tapos nandito ka na imagine,” Adie expressed. “Ang cool lang kasi before kasabayan ko lang si MRLD na nagzo-Zoom lang, mga virtual gigs lang namin tapos magpapayabangan kami.”

As the concert neared its end, she performed her earlier hits “An Art Gallery Could Never Be As Unique As You” and “Ligaya.” She closed the show with fan-favorite “Sandali,” with the audience joyfully singing and dancing along.
