Tawag ng Tanghalan: All-Star Grand Resbak champion Marko Rudio wowed the judges and captivated viewers with his powerful performances throughout the season.

PUSH ABS-CBN had the exclusive opportunity to speak with the latest singing champion, as he shared his thoughts on the song choices he performed during the finale. During the first round, he showcased his powerful vocals with a unique take on the rock icon Bamboo's classic, "Hallelujah."

“Actually marami pa kaming song. Maraming song bago yung 'Hallelujah.' Naguguluhan din ako nung ina-arrange namin yung mga kakantahin. Sobrang dami pang dumaan don na mga kanta. Pero doon kami nag-settle sa 'Hallelujah.' Nung na-arrange na, nung narinig na, parang dito na ako, okay ito sa akin,” he explained.

However, it was his medley performance that brought the most pressure, as he had to perform SB19 songs in front of the group’s own members, Stell and Pablo.

“Pressured nung una, lalo kahapon kasi nung nakita ko yung pangalan ni Stell sa mga hurado, sobrang pressured kasi nandyan yung original na kumanta ng mga awitin na kinanta ko. So, kailangan kong ipakita yung best ko para mabigyan ko ng hustisya yung mga kanta nila tapos pinapanood pa nila ako,” he recalled.

Marko also shared how he put his own spin and unique flavor on the iconic SB19 songs.

“Binigatan ko lang nang konti yung arrangement. Since puro rock yung mga nakakanta ko, puro alternative. So para yun, para lumabas din yung natural na Marko Rudio. Sobrang hirap din kasing kantahin since pang limang tao yung kumanta nung SB19,” he shared.

The notable rock belter of the season also reflected on how other OPM artists like Gloc-9 and Parokya ni Edgar inspired him to pursue his musical career.

“Sila yung childhood hero ko. Hindi ako tutugtog kung hindi dahil sa kanila. Nung napanood ko yung Inuman Sessions Volume 1, yun na, parang finished na. Ito yung gusto kong mangyari sa akin paglaki ko.

Marko also revealed the other artists he hopes to collaborate with in the future: “Gusto ko rin maka-collab yung ibang artists ngayon lalo yung mga rappers. Sina Flow G, Skusta Clee sobrang idol ko yung mga yun.”
