Tawag ng Tanghalan has crowned its newest champion in the latest season of All-Star Grand Resbak — Pangkat Agimat’s pride and Season 6 crowd favorite, Marko Rudio.

In an exclusive interview with PUSH ABS-CBN, the rock vocalist revealed who he considered the strongest competitors throughout the competition.

“Si Ian (Manibale) saka Raven (Heyres). Si Ian kasi sobrang ganda ng boses niya. Kasi kahit ako eh, pag nagre-rehearse siya, palagi kong sinasabi, ganda ng boses nito. Sobrang nakukuha niya ‘yung attention ng marami once na bumuka ‘yung bibig niya, kumanta siya,” Marko revealed.

He also went on to share how he found Raven’s vocal range particularly threatening.

“Si Raven naman kasi, given na talaga na sobrang biritera niya. And kakaiba, sobrang kakaiba. Parang doon ako na-threaten talaga,” he added.

The grand champion also opened up about nearly getting eliminated early in the competition this season.

During the first round, Marko’s win for Pangkat Agimat was crucial, as it allowed the team to catch up with Pangkat Amihan and force a tie. After securing the point for the tiebreaker, Marko once again represented his group in the “Ultimate PangkaTapatan” round, where he delivered a winning performance that saved Pangkat Agimat from elimination.

“Magagaling ‘yung mga makakalaban ko and wala akong idea kung sino ‘yung ihaharap sa akin if ever man manalo kami nun. Parang laban ako nang laban. Kasi para rin sa Team Agimat, ilalaban ko talaga. And gusto ko rin mag-round two. Ayokong matalo, sabi ko sa kanila,” Marko recalled.

Meanwhile, Marko, who was visibly emotional during the tense moment when it came down to him and Ian for the win, shared what was going through his mind at that time.

“Nung ‘di pa in-announce, parang clear ‘yung isip ko. Ayokong mag-isip. Wala namang tumatak. Pero nung in-announce na, bigla na lang pumasok sa akin na ‘You did it.’ Parang lahat ng hard work na nilaan ko para sa musika, para sa pagkanta ko, paid off,” he shared.

Marko now joins the esteemed pool of Tawag ng Tanghalan champions, including Noven Belleza, Janine Berdin, Elaine Duran, and the previous champion from the School Showdown edition, Carmelle Collado.
