Boy band SB19, dubbed the "Kings of P-pop," released Friday their third extended play (EP) "Simula at Wakas," a body of work that the group says reflects their evolution as artists.

At midnight, the five-piece act—consisting of Pablo, Josh, Stell, Ken and Justin—dropped the seven-track package on digital music platforms.

"It's our way of saying thank you and showing how much we’ve evolved," the group said of the EP in a joint statement.

"It's both a celebration of our journey so far and a declaration of what’s to come. We’re the same group as when we started. It's just that we’ve matured, evolved, and grown into artists who are more confident in our voice and purpose," they explained.

The songs off the EP were written and produced by the members of SB19 along with their pool of collaborators, including Xerxes Bakker, Alawn, August Rigo, Simon Servida, and Josue (RADKIDZ).

"This is the first time after how many years that every member has been this hands-on. Everyone was involved in conceptualizing, producing, and writing the songs," the group said.

"But we also owe a lot to our collaborators who helped us push our ideas further and elevate the project on both the technical and creative sides."

The EP features the pre-release single "Dam," as well as focus tracks "Dungka!" and "Time."

"Time" is an anthemic ballad about the inevitability of the passage of time, while "Dungka!" embraces a maximalist production with rave and hyper-pop elements, according to a press release.

To complement the EP's release, S19 will also hold the "Dam Tree," an immersive public art installation at the Bonifacio Global City that will be open to the public until May 4.

World tour

Meanwhile, SB19 is also preparing for their "Simula at Wakas" world tour, which will kick off at the Philippine Arena on May 31 and June 1 before heading to other locations: Taiwan, the United States, Canada, Singapore and the Middle East.

Additional stops in Australia, Japan, and Hong Kong are also expected to be announced.

"We've been working on new arrangements for some of our songs, and we’re really excited for fans to hear them," the group teased.

"Every performance has been thoughtfully prepared, and we’re really looking forward to seeing how our fans react to these new versions of our music. Each day will be a different experience!" they said.
