Just when they thought their dreams were over, a miracle happened.  This is how the journey of the rising P-pop group 1621 began.

Pan, Win, Migz, DJ, JM, and JC were all on the reality show Dream Maker where they participated as individuals. While they failed to make it to the end, they had another opportunity to continue to pursue their dreams.

In an exclusive interview with PUSH ABS-CBN, JC revealed that most of them had different plans already after their unsuccessful stints on the show.

“Itong pagiging 1621 po, dumating sa amin, parang miracle po siyang maituturing kasi may mga plano na kaming kanya-kanya. ‘Yung iba mag-aaral pa, ‘yung papasok na sa work after that reality show,” JC shared.

“Pero bigla po kami binigyan ng chance na gawin ‘to and bigla po kami binuo, so parang blessing in disguise po siya sa'min,” he added.

For its members and their management, the success that they now enjoy is a work of faith.

“Sabi ko nga po, blessing in disguise siya, so naniniwala po kami and ‘yung management namin na nabuo po ito by faith. May reason po siya kung bakit po kami pinagsama-sama by the management,” JC stressed.

In the same interview, Win claimed that they put God at the center of all their endeavors.

“Every Sunday, [nagsisimba] po kami pero individually po, and we always pray po talaga,” he said. “Yung center po talaga ng ginawa namin is si Lord po.”

The role of faith in their now developing careers is reflected in the name of their group itself.

According to them, 1621 is an angel number which means “success, fulfillment, and new beginnings.”

Meanwhile, Pan shared that he knew from the very start what he wanted to do.

“Ever since dumating po ako sa Manila, super clear po ng vision ko na maging artista na I really want to be a great artist as I can,” he said.

Pan also revealed his secret to success: “Good music lang po talaga, hard work and passion, and everything will follow po talaga.”

Talking about how he visualizes his group’s future, 1621’s eldest member JM said: “We’re just trusting the process kung ano ang proseso na ‘to, willing kaming pagdaanan kung saan kami dalhin nito.”

JM further added: “Basta ang mindset lang talaga namin is we’ll do everything and we’ll do all out.”

The six-member P-pop group launched their sophomore EP entitled Sapulso on April 11, delighting their fans with their upbeat but meaningful songs.

Sapulso featured songs about love complexities name “Stuck,” “Maria,” “Bagamundo,” “Bababa,” “Diwata” and “Secret.”

1621 was launched in 2023 by ABS-CBN record label Star Pop.
