December Avenue has announced the departure of its bassist, Don Gregorio, as he focuses on his family. 

On Facebook, the band shared a statement from Gregorio, who admitted that it was not an easy decision to make.

"After 17 years of being the bassist of December Avenue, I've decided to step away from the band to focus on my growing family," he said. "It wasn't an easy decision, but I know it's time for me to be fully present for my wife and our kids."

Gregorio said he is thankful to all those who have been part of December Avenue's journey, adding that he will always treasure his memories with the band and their fans. 

He hopes that the public will continue to support December Avenue despite his departure: "Suportahan niyo pa rin ang December Avenue. They're not just my band--they're my brothers. And they've still got more to share with all of you."

For its part, December Avenue expressed its support for Gregorio, who is also one of the founding members of the band. 

"While it's tough to imagine playing without him beside us, we fully support and respect his decision to put his family first. That takes courage, and we're proud of him for it," it said.

The band also stressed: "That said, we want to make it clear: We will not replace Don."

December Avenue is known for hit songs such as "Bulong," "Sa Ngalan ng Pag-Ibig," and "Huling Sandali."

The band recently performed at the UP Fair and will hold shows in La Union and Pangasinan, among others, this month.
