K-pop singer Jin of BTS is preparing for a comeback, with plans to release new music in May, according to a report.

BTS' label, BigHit Music, confirmed Monday an earlier report that the 32-year-old idol is preparing for a new release, according to K-pop news website Soompi.

"Jin is preparing for a new album with the goal of releasing it in May. We plan on releasing details regarding the comeback at a later date," BigHit was quoted as saying in the Soompi article.

If it pushes through, the May release would mark Jin’s first comeback in about six months, following his extended play "Happy" in November 2024.

"Happy" debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 chart, which ranks the most popular albums in the United States.

Jin currently appears in the Netflix variety show "Kian's Bizarre B&B," where he works as a staff member at a uniquely designed bed-and-breakfast run by cartoonist and TV personality Kian84.

Jin is among two BTS members who are active in the entertainment industry as the remaining five are still completing their mandatory military service.

His bandmate, J-Hope, recently concluded the two-day Manila stop of his "Hope On The Stage" concert tour.
