South Korean star Choi Minho is set to take the Philippine stage for his first solo concert, MEAN: Of My First, on March 16, 2025, at the New Frontier Theater in Quezon City.

As excitement builds for his highly anticipated show, here are some of Minho’s must-listen songs from his discography to get you in the concert mood:

Chase (2022)

Coming from his first solo album, “Chase” expresses the empty feeling of chasing after someone who is getting farther away. This title track features a medium-tempo pop sound with a heavy bass line, creating a deep and emotional atmosphere.

In an interview with Korea JoongAng Daily, Minho described “Chase” as a “chic but sentimental hip-hop and R&B number.”

He also shared how he loved the demo so much that his agency, SM Entertainment, sent a representative to the United States to acquire it. Later, R&B songwriter Gemini added a new melody line to enhance the song.

Choice (2022)

A personal and reflective track, “Choice” looks back on Minho’s past and the key decisions that shaped him. This R&B pop song features a simple yet nostalgic melody, delivering a warm and comforting message.

Waterfall (2022)

Featuring South Korean singer Lim Kim, “Waterfall” is an R&B track that symbolizes overwhelming emotions, much like an uncontrollable waterfall.

In an interview with Korea JoongAng Daily, Minho revealed that "Waterfall" almost became someone else’s song. However, he quickly secured it because its dreamy vibe reminded him of his group, SHINee’s music.

Minho also said that the song was initially a solo track, sharing, “It was also supposed to be my solo track, but our team strongly recommended that this should be a duet. That’s how I got to collaborate with Lim Kim, who was the first singer that came to my mind. She kindly accepted my offer right away.”

Heartbreak (2021)

Though later included in his first mini album, “Heartbreak” was released a year earlier. This pop track features strong rhythmic percussion, giving it a mature and melancholic feel.

In an interview with Newsen, Minho shared, “The lyrics express the sadness of parting in a mild and calm manner are the point of appreciation. I think it would be good to listen to it while driving or looking at a beautiful night view."

Call Back (2024)

The title track of Minho’s first full-length album, “Call Back,” showcases his artistic growth. This pop song blends heavy bass, lyrical piano, and upbeat guitar riffs, delivering an emotional confession.

Speaking to Korea Times, Minho noted that the song is unlike any previous SM Entertainment title tracks for a full-length album

"From what I know, no SM Entertainment artist has had this kind of song as the title track for a full-length album before," Minho said. "Although I was worried about trying something new, once I became confident I could do it well, I worked hard at it."

I Don’t Miss You (2024)

An introspective R&B pop song, “I Don’t Miss You” combines deep bass, a strong kick sound, and acoustic guitar. The lyrics, delivered in a calm, almost spoken-rap style, convey the struggle of convincing oneself not to miss a past lover.

Affection (2024)

Exploring a new sound, “Affection” is an Afrobeat-inspired R&B pop song. The lyrics express the deep emotions of being enamored with someone, making this track smooth and sultry.

Something about U (2024)

A bold and sensual track, “Something About U” fuses a heavy kick, groovy bass, and dynamic build-up drum sounds.

The lyrics reflect the irresistible desire to get closer to someone intriguing.
