It was in February when Selena announced that she is releasing a new album, which is a collaboration with her fiancé Benny Blanco.

"I always trick you guys  my NEW album I Said I Love You First with my best friend @itsbennyblanco, is out on 3/21 ," she wrote at that time. "We can’t wait to share this special project with you soon!"

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter in November 2024, the singer-actress remarked that she wants to explore more acting projects moving forward but she is not closing her doors on music.

Selena further explained that she's "almost done" doing what she wants to do in music but "music isn't going away." She pointed out: "I just set it down for a second."

The last time that Selena released an album was in 2020 with Rare.
