Miley Cyrus is stepping into a new era. The pop star announced that she will be releasing her ninth studio album titled Something Beautiful, set for release on May 30.

The album will feature 13 original tracks, with Miley and Shawn Everett at the helm as executive producers. Along with the announcement, the singer revealed the official album artwork, shot by renowned fashion photographer Glen Luchford.

"The album artwork features [Miley] draped in archival 1997 Thierry Mugler couture, a striking nod to the album’s bold aesthetic and visual storytelling," read the post on Miley's Instagram page.

The pop star also dropped a trailer teasing the album’s accompanying visual film, which will debut in June under the same title, Something Beautiful. The film is a collaboration between Miley, XYZ, and Panos Cosmatos, and is being produced in partnership with Columbia Records and Live Nation.

The visual project is co-directed by Miley, Jacob Bixenman, and Brendan Walter, with acclaimed cinematographer Benoît Debie behind the lens.

"Something Beautiful will showcase Miley in a striking visual narrative, featuring archival Thierry Mugler couture, Jean Paul Gaultier, custom Alexander McQueen, and Alaïa," another post read.

Fans were quick to react to the announcement, expressing their excitement about the news.

Miley released her previous album Endless Summer Vacation in March 2023.

The record's first single "Flowers" won Best Pop Solo Performance and Record of the Year at the 2024 Grammys.

"This award is amazing, but I really hope it doesn’t change anything, because my life was beautiful yesterday," Miley said in her acceptance speech for Record of the Year. "Not everyone in the world will get a Grammy but everyone in the world is spectacular." 

Following her big wins at the Grammys, the singer took to social media to pen a message to mark this new milestone in her career.

"I had all the perfect things to say but none of them could come out in this moment of shock. I’m happy they didn’t… because (thankfully) prepared perfection just isn’t my story. Life is so much more exciting this way🦋," she said about receiving her first Grammy.
