Mayday Parade last visited the Philippines in 2023, following their previous Manila show in 2019. The band has often expressed their admiration for Filipino fans, praising them as the “best singing crowd.”

Frontman Derek Sanders shared his amazement at a past concert, saying, “OMG you guys this is wild… I don’t know what we’ve done to deserve you guys. It’s an incredible feeling, I don’t think I’ve ever heard a crowd sing as loud as you guys are singing right now. Thank you guys.”

.

During their last Manila show, the band performed without guitarist Brooks Betts, who had stayed behind to accompany his partner as they prepared for the arrival of their child.

Marking their 20th anniversary, Mayday Parade announced a three-part album, with the first installment, Sweet, set for release on April 18, 2025.

“Being a band for 20 years feels big, and we wanted to do something big to match that,” Derek shared with Alternative Press.

“It feels like a challenge and an exciting step forward for the band. Our goal is to take the things we’ve learned and the ways we’ve grown and apply them toward an ambitious release. We’re incredibly thankful for the opportunity to continue to create music and we cannot wait to share Part 1 — titled Sweet — with the world,” he added.

The band has already released two singles from the album, “Pretty Good to Feel Something,” which debuted last year, and their latest single, “By the Way.”

Three Cheers for 20 Years will kick off on April 22 and run through June 6 for their North American tour. The band later extended the tour to include Australia, Manila, and Singapore, with Southeast Asian tour dates confirmed for September 2025.

“You didn’t think we would go alllll the way to Australia and back without swinging by to see all our friends in Southeast Asia, right? Singapore and Philippines - we’re coming your way later this year for a pair of tour dates! 🌏,” the band wrote in a post on their social media page.
