Newbeat, the latest boy band from K-pop company Beat Interactive, has made its debut with a full-length album, an uncommon move in the industry where most new acts are introduced through singles or extended plays (EPs).

On Monday, the seven-member group released "Raw and Rad," which features 11 tracks, including a CD-only bonus track as the 11th.

"Debuting with a full-length album was both exciting and nerve-wracking, but it really allowed us to show all sides of who we are as Newbeat," member Park Minseok said in a press release.

"Every track on "Raw and Rad' tells a different part of our story, and we hope listeners can feel our honesty and passion in every beat," Minseok added.

The album includes the pre-release singles "JeLLo (Sleepers)" and "Hiccups," as well as the title track "Flip the Coin."

"Flip the Coin" reflects the idea that what people perceive as good or bad, or the "front" and "back" of a coin, illustrates "how differing perspectives shape our views," according to a press release.

Another track, "F.L.Y (Fu**ing Lovely, Lonely Youth)," was produced by Lim Hyun-sik of K-pop vocal powerhouse BTOB.

Newbeat—also composed of Hong Minsung, Jeon Yeoyeojeong, Choi Seohyun, Kim Taeyang, Jo Yunhu, and Kim Riwoo—is the newest act from Beat Interactive, the same agency that launched the boy group A.C.E in 2017.

A.C.E departure

The debut, however, comes days after the agency announced A.C.E's departure from the company.

"We hereby inform you that our exclusive contract with A.C.E will officially come to an end as of March 31, 2025," Beat Interactive said in a statement.

"After thorough and thoughtful discussions with the members, both parties have mutually agreed not to extend the contract and to conclude our management responsibilities," the company said.

Beat Interactive said it allowed A.C.E, known for songs such as "Under Cover" and "Goblin (Favorite Boys)," to "freely continue using the group name and related content, without any conditions."
