MANILA — Chloe San Jose is stepping into the music industry with the release of her debut single — "FR FR" or "for real, for real" — under Star Pop.

In an exclusive interview, the rising artist shared her excitement about launching her career as a recording artist.

"So from the title, it’s just about being real and authentic to the people po and sa sarili na rin,” San Jose said.

When asked if singing has always been her dream, San Jose said that music had been a passion since childhood.

“I can say it’s been something I’ve been eyeing po because I started making YouTube covers for fun lang since I was 9. Pero it got a bit more serious po when I turned 16," she said.

"During those times po, I guested na po on iWant ASAP, then naging ASAP prod po, and then another ASAP prod. Eventually, Star Pop po, and ayun, we had a meeting, and it turned into this."

San Jose sees this moment as a natural progression of her musical journey rather than a sudden career shift.

“I think I’ve always been in it naman po. So this era po, para sa akin, it’s just the official na making it na I’m in the music industry. Pero feeling ko it has really been with me since I was really young po. My family said parang two years old pa lang, I’ve been singing na,” she shared.

San Jose also revealed that her debut single is just the beginning because she has a full album lined up for release later this year.

“Yes po! Pero wala na lang po munang date. It’s a full album po—so seven songs,” she confirmed.

Beyond music, San Jose’s personal life is also thriving. She is in a relationship with Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo, who has been nothing but supportive of her musical endeavors.

"He’s super happy, and may surprise din po sa music video," she said.

"FR FR" is set to be released March 7.
