MANILA -- Jamie Rivera, dubbed the "Inspirational Diva," has penned a special song for Regine Velasquez titled “Lahat Ay Kaya Kong Gawin,” a tribute to mothers everywhere.

The song, produced under Rivera’s label Inspired Music under ABS-CBN Music, is set for release in time for Mother’s Day 2025.

In an interview, Rivera shared the inspiration behind the song, emphasizing how it was written specifically for Velasquez.

“This is a mother’s song. And this is in time for Mother’s Day 2025 [on May 11]. So, ’yun ang target release namin. Under Inspired Music, kasi lahat ng songs namin, siyempre, merong inspiration. Inspirational songs. This one is for Mother’s Day,” she said.

As a fellow mother, Rivera felt deeply connected to the song’s theme.

“Since kami ni Reg, pareho na kaming mother, alam na alam namin paano ’yung tema, paano magmahal. Marunong na kami magmahal ngayon ng anak. So, ginawa ko ’yung song talaga for Miss Regine Velasquez. Sa kanya talaga ’yan. Kung tatanungin nila kung pwede ko ibigay sa iba, hindi ko ibigay sa iba. Kasi kay Miss Regine Velasquez ko lang ’yun ginawa. Yes. She’s my inspiration,” she added.

For Velasquez, being chosen to interpret “Lahat Ay Kaya Kong Gawin” was a special moment. She expressed her gratitude to Rivera, whom she has been close friends with for many years.

“I am happy to be singing a song that was produced and written by my good friend over here, Jamie. We’ve been friends for—huwag na natin sabihin—forever,” Velasquez joked.

She went on to share how deeply the song resonated with her as a mother.

This song was written for me. Wow, thank you very much. ’Yun na sabi na eh. Now she really wrote this song for me. That’s why when I was singing it, I was telling her, parang sinulat talaga sa akin. And then she said, ‘Oo nga.’ Ah, okay. It’s a beautiful song about a mother’s love and how we will sacrifice everything for our little kiddos,” she said.

Velasquez, who is a devoted mother to her son, Nate, reflected on how motherhood remains unchanged no matter how old children get.

“Pareho kami, malalaki na ’yung mga anak namin. Ako, teenager pa naman. But you know, it doesn’t matter how old they get. In our eyes, in our hearts, in our minds, in our souls, they will always be our babies. And ’yun ang istorya, ang awit na sinulat ni Jamie,” she said.

Before writing the song, Rivera closely followed Velasquez’s journey as a mother and drew inspiration from her relationship with Nate.

“Before I wrote the song, fina-follow ko talaga ’yung journey ni Reg as a mom, saka ’yung mga occasions ni Nate. Biglang darating ka sa mga program niya. Ang tali-talino na ni Nate, ang dami niyang gustong gawin. At a very young age, ang dami niya nang na-achieve internationally. So, fina-follow ko ’yun, ’yung journey niya. So, that’s where I got my inspiration—sa kanilang mag-ina,” Rivera explained.

She also revealed that working with Velasquez had always been a dream.

“Nakikita ko ‘yung nararamdaman ko. I’m sure nararamdaman din ni Reg. Dahil gano’n ’yung nararamdaman ng nanay. And ultimate goal ko ’to, ultimate dream ko ’to—makagawa ng kanta and makaproduce ng song for Regine Velasquez. Kasi ngayon lang naman kami nag-collaborate ng song,” she said.

“Lahat Ay Kaya Kong Gawin” marks the fifth song to be released under Rivera’s Inspired Music label.

The track will be available on all music streaming platforms just in time for Mother’s Day 2025, making it a heartfelt tribute to all mothers who dedicate their lives to their children.
