Filipino singer-songwriter TJ Monterde closed his three-night sold-out concert series, Sarili Nating Mundo, with a heartfelt night of celebration and gratitude at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Monday, February 3.

Reflecting on his more than a decade-long career, TJ shared his journey of perseverance, patience, and dedication.

“Alam niyo, noong sinabi sa akin na three nights, una sa lahat noong sinabi sa akin na mag-Araneta ako, to be honest, nanginig na ako,. Hindi ko talaga alam kung paano siya dadalhin pero nandito kayo ngayon. Tatlong araw tayong nandito sa Araneta, dahil sa inyo iyon,” TJ shared during theconcert.

“Maraming maraming salamat po for making this simple songwriter’s dreams come true. Tinupad niyo po ang mga pangarap ko. Maraming maraming salamat po sa inyong lahat,” he added.

Looking back on his journey, he expressed how grateful he was for not giving up.

“I’m just very humbled na ako yung nandito ngayon. Sabi ko sa sarili ko kanina habang nakatingin sa photos and videos kanina noong Day 1 and Day 2, sabi ko sa sarili ko, ‘TJ, buti na lang hindi ka sumuko.’ It took me almost 15 years to see this view,” he said.

TJ performed some of his biggest hits, including “Sariling Mundo”, “Tulad Mo”, “Puhon”, “Nowhere”, “Imahinasyon”, and “Little Paradise”. Fans, fondly called “Bituin,” were also treated to a special cover of James Reid’s “Randomantic.”

During the concert, TJ received two major recognitions from Billboard Philippines for his hit song “Palagi”, a duet version with his wife, KZ Tandingan. The song was honored as the No. 1 song in the Philippines for 2024, topping both the Philippines Hot 100 and Philippines Top Songs charts.

“This is a very special award,” Billboard Philippines editor-in-chief Bret Jackson said. “You are number one across the globe. This is saying that OPM is going to different places in the Philippines. Every day, all of you are choosing Filipino music and TJ and KZ are a representation of that so thank you, TJ and KZ.”

Adding to the celebration, the Araneta Coliseum also recognized TJ as the “First Filipino Solo Male Artist to Stage Three Consecutive Sold-Out Shows” at the venue.

Aside from awards, event director John Prats surprised TJ on stage to express his admiration.

“Bro, mula sa akin at sa buong Cornerstone at sa lahat ng bumubuo ng concert na ito, we just want to say thank you. Thank you for not giving up. Thank you for fighting. Thank you for honoring God,” John said.

Being the director of TJ’s concerts, John shared how happy he was collaborating ideas and vision with TJ.

“It’s so nice creating with you. Thank you for giving me the trust. Thank you for acknowledging me. Thank you for listening and thank you for creating this wonderful concert. Thank you for the humility na binibigay mo sa amin,” he added.

TJ also shared the stage with singer Arthur Nery during his “Mahika” performance and did covers of Parokya ni Edgar’s “Harana” and Hale’s “Kung Wala Ka.”

The night also featured emotional performances of TJ’s heartbreak anthems, including “Dating Tayo,” “Hanggang Dito Na Lang,” “Kung Siya Man,” and “Huling Luha.”

Another surprise of the third night was the appearance of South Korean singer-songwriter 10cm, who performed his song “Spring Snow” from the popular K-drama Lovely Runner with TJ.

TJ revealed that he actually tried to learn the Korean lyrics of the song to pay back 10cm’s gesture of performing his song in his past show.

“I listened to him on Spotify and now he’s on stage with me and now he’s my friend,” TJ expressed.

“I’m really grateful that you are here,” he added. “You were there during my first concert, you are also here. I just want to thank you for being part of my journey.”

10cm also expressed how proud he is to his Filipino friend on his milestones as an artist.

I feel like you are already a super rockstar. It’s a pleasure of mine, seeing you now performing in a bigger venue. I’m so proud of you and I’m so so happy for you. Thank you for inviting me again,” the South Korean star said.

Having a newfound friendship, the duo announced their collaboration on a song titled “Silver,” which they co-wrote about friendship.

“I listen to him. Pinapakinggan ko siya and ngayon may ginawa kaming music,” TJ said.

He explained. “This song talks about the love of a best friend that surpasses time. Ito yung pagmamahal na kahit wala siya, kita mo pa rin at ramdam mo pa rin ang pagmamahal niya.”

10cm then performed a medley of some of his popular K-drama OSTs songs and gave a special song for TJ.

As the concert drew to a close, TJ and KZ delivered an emotional performance of “Palagi,” with several onstage marriage proposals adding to the magical atmosphere.

KZ then shared a heartfelt message for her husband, saying, “This person is an example of God’s testimony an He is the God of everything na kaya Niyang i-compress ang time, na kaya Niyang ibigay lahat ng mga pangarap mo sa isang (snap) lang.”

“Sobra akong grateful na I got to witness that every single day for the rest of our lives,” she added.
