BLACKPINK’s Jennie shares inspiration behind debut album title ‘Ruby’

<p>BLACKPINK&#x27;s Jennie shared the inspiration behind the name of her debut solo album, <em>Ruby.</em></p><p>&quot;It reminded me of the theater curtain, ruby red, and I wanted to open the curtain myself and introduce my new music to the world for the first time,&quot; she said in an interview with Vogue.</p><p>The singer got candid about her emotions leading to the release of her solo record.</p><p>&quot;I&#x27;m going through an emotional roller coaster right now and every day has been different,&quot; she confessed.</p><p>&quot;It&#x27;s a moment that I&#x27;ve been dreaming of my whole life. And I&#x27;m really trying to hold everything inside so I can really enjoy it on the day of March 7th. I have been involved with every little steps and details of our whole creatives and the whole making process. I&#x27;m giving birth to my <em>Ruby</em>. It&#x27;s definitely coming from my heart. That’s one other thing that’s changed from being in BLACKPINK, is that I get to say my message in my way,&quot; she said.</p><p>The K-pop star started working on the album in early 2024 and shared that the process is nearing completion. “I want to say I’m almost there,” she revealed.</p>
