BGYO member Mikki Claver revealed the story behind writing their latest single, "Andito Lang," in the second part of their interview on the TFC talk show BRGY.

“Ano ba ang laman ng puso mo, Mikki, sa pagsulat nito na gusto mong ibahagi sa lahat?” Television host Bianca Gonzalez asked.

Mikki shared that "Andito Lang" is actually a “practice song” that he wrote years ago.

"Itong time po kasi na 'to, I wrote this during the pandemic, and then we were preparing for an album that time. And during that time din po, nagsusulat ako ng mga sarili kong kanta. So, ‘Andito Lang’ was one of my practice songs before that I tried to write,” Mikki explained.

The BGYO member admitted that it was supposed to be more about romantic love, but he realized it could also be fitting for everyone.

"Nasa isip ko lang no’n, I'm trying to put myself in a situation na, you know, siyempre girl, ganon, try lang. But in the end, pwede rin siyang para sa lahat,” Mikki added.

Another BGYO member, Akira, was also impressed by Mikki’s story and explanation. “Masaya po kasi narinig ko na kung paano siya mag-explain ng kanta, kasi dati puro pakinig lang siya. Ang ganda.”

BGYO also shared that the song was actually recorded in early 2024 but was only released in December as a special single.

"I just wanted to express sa song na 'yon, tapos sakto, this was recorded a long ago na rin po. Sakto, this December, we wanted a song na pwede pang i-release after all we've been through,” Mikki shared.

True to the title of their latest single, BGYO shared their "Andito Lang" promises to one another.

Akira started with a short yet sweet promise to their leader, Gelo. “Ako’y andito lang, kapag kailangan mo ng tenga na makikinig."

Gelo continued with another promise to their bunso, Nate. “Ako’y nandito lang, pag kailangan mo ng kasama."

Nate, meanwhile, tried to lighten the mood further by saying to Mikki. "Andito lang ako para may kasabay sa pag-dogshow kay Kuya Aki.”

Mikki kept the vibe light by kidding JL, playfully tagging him as another Coco Martin, saying, "Andito lang ako, kahit sikat ka na, na stunt double."

JL didn’t back down and continued teasing Akira. “Aki, nandito lang ako kapag kailangan mo ng magagandang jokes.”

Despite the banter, BGYO remains serious about making more music in 2025.

"Na-announce na po ‘yan sa Christmas special. Bale, magkakaroon po kami ng bagong EP (extended play). Ire-release yan sa 2025. Hindi ko pwedeng sabihin, pero abangan niyo” Gelo teased.

JL added, “Ang dami ko, kung pwede lang i-release ngayon, iri-release na eh."
