Despite learning the craft, Maymay admitted she wasn’t enjoying acting, leading her to question her career path.

“Alam ko naman kung paano umiyak. Kung paano magfocus sa character na hindi nadadawit yung personal kong buhay. So sabi ko, ‘Sige magtry pa ako,’” she said. “Nagtry ako mga dancing sessions, nagdadance na ako pero hindi ako masaya.”

“Noong 2021, I almost gave up po. I almost [said] bye bye sa industry po kasi I don't know what I want and I'm not happy what I'm doing dito sa industry,” Maymay said.

“I wanted my song po that comes from an inspiration kung ano iyong pinagdaanan ko ngayon. After a month, ayon po nabuo ang ‘Amakabogera,’” she said. “Ngayong napapakinggan ko na po (ang Amakabogera), naiiyak ako kasi yung song parang message na siya for me. Hindi na lang siya pop song. Galing siya sa puso ko.”

“I want to put justice for this song. First because you guys listen to me; second, you see the potential po sa akin kaya gusto ko po parang ibalik sa inyo talaga,” she said. “Nakatulong talaga siya sa akin, sa growth ko as an artist. To not to listen on what people say talaga and just to focus on learning.”

Looking back, Maymay is grateful for her journey, sharing, “Looking back, it took me few years para matutunan ko kung ano iyong natutunan ko ngayon. Sobrang worth it talaga.”

“All you have to do is keep on trying talaga until you find what suits for you and what's your passion po, what makes you happy. You can learn everything pala as long as you are committed talaga, 100 percent that you wanted to learn,” she expressed.

Kahit nagkakamali ako, kahit hindi pulido yung paggawa ko, pero masaya ako. Namomotivate ako to learn more to improve doon sa field na iyon which is singing.”
