<p>Taylor Swift took to social media to reflect on her journey after <em>The Life of a Showgirl </em>sold over 4 million copies in its first week, marking the biggest debut week in music history.</p><p>In an Instagram post, the global pop superstar reflected on her beginnings, the support she received, and how that support has grown tremendously nearly two decades into her career.</p><p>&quot;I’ll never forget how excited I was in 2006 when my first album sold 40,000 copies in its first week. I was 16 and couldn’t even fathom that that many people would care enough about my music to invest their time and energy into it. Thank you for the lovely bouquet 💐,&quot; she remarked.</p><p>Billboard reported that as per Luminate, <em>The Life of a Showgirl</em> debuted with 4.002 million equivalent album units, consisting of 3,479,500 pure album sales from physical and digital versions, and 522,600 streaming-equivalent album units, which equate to 680.9 million on-demand official streams of the album&#x27;s tracks</p>
