The company dropped late Sunday a music video for "Umm Great," which serves as a pre-release for the team's upcoming debut extended play "Flip It, Kick It!".

The "Umm Great" video marked the official introduction of KickFlip's seven members to K-pop fans. Notably, JYP did not put out individual teaser photos to introduce the members beforehand, deviating from the usual K-pop debut strategy.

But hours after the release of "Umm Great," JYP uploaded the members' profiles on KickFlip's website.

Here's what we know so far about KickFlip and its members.

What is KickFlip?

KickFlip is the latest boy band out of JYP Entertainment, a powerhouse agency in the K-pop industry founded by veteran singer-songwriter Park Jin-young.

The company is home to several popular idol groups, including 2PM, TWICE, Stray Kids, ITZY, and NMIXX, as well as rock bands Day6 and Xdinary Heroes. It also manages overseas groups such as China-based Boy Story, Japan-based NiziU and Nexz, and US-based VCHA.

KickFlip marks JYP's first Korean boy group debut since Stray Kids — which has achieved significant commercial success in recent years — in 2018.

The group's name, taken from a skateboarding trick, reflects their concept as skateboarders — a theme clearly showcased in the "Umm Great" video.

"Umm Great," however, only serves as a teaser for the septet's official debut on January 20 with the extended play "Flip It, Kick It!".

Several members of KickFlip may be familiar faces to K-pop fans, as four of them — Kyehyoon, Amaru, Keiju and Donghyeon — previously participated in the 2021 reality talent competition "Loud."
