Maris Racal released the music video for her latest track "Perpektong Tao" on Saturday, January 18.

Maris revealed that she directed the music video herself.

"First time to direct a music video. Couldn’t have done it without my amazing team and the Mariestellers (fan group) who came to support. Salamat po," she posted on social media.

Fans online were quick to react to Maris's music video.

"They turned the tide into something useful. This can be very inspirational. Lalo sa mga nadapa at gustong bumangon," one fan commented.

"This is a living proof that after the storm there is a rainbow. SLAY Maris just stay positive. ALWAYS LOOK FOR THE BRIGHTER SIDE. Learn the lesson and move forward always," another fan wrote.

The song is currently ranked No. 23 on YouTube's trending list for music as of this writing.

It was on January 16 when Maris announced the release of the song.

"Writing this song healed me in ways I never thought possible. It was born from a journey through pain, regret, and the courage to seek forgiveness, a reminder that even in our darkest moments, we can find light," she said in her announcement.

She went on: "I’m sharing this with the world, hoping it resonates with those who need it most."

In December 2024, Maris was embroiled in a controversy with onscreen partner Anthony Jennings.

Screenshots of her intimate conversations with Anthony surfaced on social media, which was uploaded by the actor's ex-girlfriend, Jamela Villanueva.

The actress made her first public appearance since the controversy during the Incognito fan conference at a mall in Taguig this January.
