K-pop group BTS. Photo from BigHit Music's X accountK-pop supergroup BTS emerged as the most streamed K-pop artist on Spotify in 2024, highlighting the group's enduring popularity despite most of its members currently serving in the military, the streaming platform announced Thursday.

The seven-member boy band topped Spotify's list of Global Top K-Pop Artists of 2024, with members Jungkook and Jimin securing second and fourth place, respectively.

They achieved this feat despite all of its members being in the military earlier this year, with Jin's discharge in June followed by J-Hope's in October. Notably, while most male idols typically become inactive during their conscription, the BTS members have continued to release solo projects prepared ahead of this period.

BTS was also the most streamed K-pop artist on Spotify in 2023.

Photo courtesy of SpotifyBoy group Stray Kids, which recently performed in the Philippines as part of their "dominATE" tour, placed third, while girl group NewJeans, which made headlines this year following their producer's dispute with their agency, ranked fifth.

Jimin also topped the list of most-streamed K-pop songs of the year with "Who," the single off his album "Muse" released in July, followed by Jungkook's "Seven" and "Standing Next To You" from his 2023 album "Golden."

BTS' V also entered the Top 5 with "Love Me Again" landing on the fourth spot, while girl group ILLIT claimed fifth place with their debut single "Magnetic."
