K-pop group Tomorrow X Together. Photo from TXT's X accountThe members of K-pop boy band Tomorrow X Together (TXT) will take a break starting in January to rest and recharge, their label announced on Tuesday.

In a notice on fan community app Weverse, BigHit Music said its five-piece act "will conclude their activities for 2024" after attending the 39th Golden Disc Awards on January 5, 2025 "and embark on a long-term break."

"During this time, the members plan to spend quality moments with their families and take time to rest, preparing to return to [fans called] MOA with an extraordinary 2025 ahead," BigHit said.

This marks one of the few instances in the cutthroat K-pop industry where a group will pause its promotional activities. Typically, K-pop acts release new music within a few months, with the time in between often spent preparing for their next release or going on tours.

"We kindly ask for your warm support and thoughtful understanding as the members each spend this time in their own ways," BigHit said, adding that TXT "will come back with an even more remarkable presence."

In November, the group's leader Soobin halted activities for the remainder of 2024 due to health reasons.

This year, the quintet—also composed of Yeonjun, Beomgyu, Taehyun and Huening Kai—traveled across the United States and Asia for their "Act: Promise" concert tour, and released the Korean extended plays "Minisode 3: Tomorrow" and "The Star Chapter: Sanctuary."

TXT are also scheduled to perform at SBS' year-end music festival Gayo Daejeon, to be held at the Inspire Arena in Incheon, South Korea on December 25.
