MANILA — OPM singer Maki is on a roll as he introduces new color song "Bughaw" and teased another track during the first day of his concert held Friday.

In the middle of his set, concert-goers were in for a treat as Maki revealed that he will be following up hit song "Dilaw" and latest single "Namumula" with another song related to a color.

He, then, revealed that the song will be titled "Bughaw", and performed it for the first time to the audience and revealed its release date of December 1.

Speaking to reporters, Maki said that with "Bughaw" he wants to emulate the love he gets and gives from his friends.

"For 'Bughaw kasi, (starting muna) 'Dilaw' is about self-love, 'Namumula' is about an intense love and now this one is a kind of love na binibigay ng friends mo and binibigay sa'yo ng friends mo," the singer said.

While blue may at times be related to sadness and loneliness, Maki is reminded of how things like the sky and sea can make people happy too.

"Parang iisipin natin kapag kulay blue, sad siya pero for some reason this song it makes you feel calm, happy lang and peace of mind. Kumbaga 'yung nabibigay na peace sa'tin ng sea and ng sky, blue siya," he added.

Maki also teased another song during his concert titled "Itim Na Ulap" which tackles about a person's longing for another person that he loves.

"Kapag itim na ang ulap, kapag bumubuhos na ang ulan sa aking mga mata, sana kasama pa rin kita kahit maputi na ang buhok ko," the lyrics say.

The song, which has similarities to the vibe of his track "Para Sa Buwan" and a full 180 from his past tracks was not given a release date.

With people familiar with his "soft boi" tracks, Maki also teased with how playful he can be with the songs that he is set to release.

"Kung ano ako, kung ano'ng mayroon ako, kung nasaan ako 'yun 'yung pinapalago ko. Ayun kasi 'yung mahirap magtagal sa industry kung hindi ka totoo pero ako 'to, softboi, ako na talaga 'to pero malay niyo 'bad boi' concept next time," he said.

Maki rose to fame with his hit 2023 single "Saan?" enumerating popular places like the University of the Philippines (UP), Bonifacio Global City (BGC), among others where he could bring a person on a date.

His career catapulted when he released the track "Dilaw" in 2024, which will later on reach milestones on streaming platforms and charts.
