Pinoy Big Brother Gen 11 ex-housemate Jarren Garcia is officially one of the new VJs for the music channel MYX.

In an exclusive interview at the MYX Music Awards 2024, Jarren shared his excitement about his new role after his PBB stint.

“I’m very very excited like hosting is something I’ve never done before but some people say that it comes naturally so I think I’ll be able to come with it. I’m very excited,” he told PUSH.

Jarren expressed his enthusiasm about the opportunity to introduce more Filipino music to the world and bring international music to Filipino audiences.

“I think I just can’t wait to venture into new wonders of music and like introduce international music to Filipinos, Filipino music to international just like that,” he expressed.

On the red carpet, Jarren added, “As a MYX VJ, I really want to explore other forms of music. I really love international music and Filipino music. I kind of wanna combine the two to show the Filipino community what the international music would like and to show the world what Filipino music looks like."

Jarren also took the time to thank his fans for their support, saying: “I couldn’t have gotten and become the MYX VJ without you guys. I appreciate you guys so so so much. Thank you so much to everyone spend their time voting. It takes a while. Thank you for taking time off your day just for me.”

Now that he is a MYX VJ, which artists would Jarren like to have special interviews with?

“My favorite artist, the international artist that I want is Daniel Caesar. I really wanted to interview him if given a chance,” Jarren shared with PUSH. “Here in the Philippines, Maki. I want to interview Maki. We were just hanging out (a while ago). I want to interview Maki.”

Jarren was one of the Top 12 finalists in this year’s MYX VJ Search, where fans voted for their favorite VJ aspirants from November 11 to 16.

In his introduction video, Jarren highlighted his versatility, fun personality, and love for music as qualities that make him a great fit for the role of MYX VJ.

“I’m very versatile with people. Many people say that I’m easy to hang out with and easy to be friends with so I know how to keep a good conversation going. No matter what the time is, I am also able to make it fun and last but definitely not the least, I have an abundance of love for music,” he said.

The Top 12 candidates walked the red carpet at the MYX Music Awards 2024 and met OPM artists. In the middle of the program, they were asked to introduce themselves on stage. MYX also revealed that two winners would be chosen, along with three runners-up.

“I was like scared. I do not know. I’m not part of the runners up so hopefully I have the VJ. I was still very nervous,” Jarren said, recalling the time when his name wasn’t called yet.
