BTS member Jin shared the inspiration behind the title of his first debut album Happy.

"Happiness is a very important word and holds value for me," he said in an interview on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. "Simply because it is so important to me, I wanted to express happiness through music. So that's why the title of my album is Happy."

The album contains six tracks including "Running Wild," "I'll Be There," "Another Level," "Falling," "Heart on the Window," and "I Will Come To You." The album was released on Friday, November 15.

When asked what the difference was between creating his solo album and making a BTS album, the singer shared: "A BTS album incorporates the opinions of all the members, so it is a mix of many individual opinions. Whereas for this album, it includes my opinion only, so it feels more personal to me."

Happy contains numerous rock songs. On his musical influences when it comes to rock music, Jin said that he looks up to Coldplay.

"I really love Coldplay. I had a chance to work with Coldplay before. A few years ago, before this album, Chris Martin gave me a song he wrote. We worked on it together and it was an honor for me," he recalled.

The singer also relayed that he recevied a guitar from the band's lead singer, Chris Martin. "I was hanging out with Chris Martin and he had a guitar from his tour. I jokingly asked him, 'Can I have this guitar?" Chris Martin was like, 'Of course!' I was so happy. Now it's my family heirloom."

Jin completed his mandatory military service back in June.

The singer then engaged in various activities after being discharged from the military including doing a meet and greet with the fans at the BTS FESTA on June 13 at the Jamsil Sports Complex in Seoul to mark the debut anniversary of BTS.

The BTS member also became a torchbearer for South Korea at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris in July.
