Fans online were quick to react to the trailer.

"The way both their voices equally meld and complement each other..... magic. ✨😍," one fan commented.

"Part 2 is definitely going to be a rollercoaster. So excited to watch this in November. I’m not ready to cry when they both sing 'For Good,'" another fan said.

According to the trailer's synopsis posted on Universal Pictures' YouTube channel, "Elphaba, now demonized as The Wicked Witch of the West, lives in exile, hidden within the Ozian forest while continuing her fight for the freedom of Oz’s silenced Animals and desperately trying to expose the truth she knows about The Wizard (Jeff Goldblum)."

Meanwhile, Glinda, "has become the glamorous symbol of Goodness for all of Oz, living at the palace in Emerald City and reveling in the perks of fame and popularity. Under the instruction of Madame Morrible (Michelle Yeoh), Glinda is deployed to serve as an effervescent comfort to Oz, reassuring the masses that all is well under the rule of The Wizard."

The synopsis added that as Glinda's fame grows and she plans her wedding to Prince Fiyero (Jonathan Bailey), she remains haunted by her rift with Elphaba. Her failed attempt to reconcile Elphaba and The Wizard only deepens their divide, with lasting consequences for Boq (Ethan Slater), Fiyero, and Elphaba’s sister Nessarose (Marissa Bode), especially when a girl from Kansas suddenly arrives and upends their world.

"As an angry mob rises against the Wicked Witch, Glinda and Elphaba will need to come together one final time. With their singular friendship now the fulcrum of their futures, they will need to truly see each other, with honesty and empathy, if they are to change themselves, and all of Oz, for good," the synopsis concluded.

Directed by Jon M. Chu, Wicked: For Good is set to be released on November 21.
