Maris Racal's film 'Sunshine' to hit PH cinemas in July

<p>MANILA - &quot;Sunshine,&quot; the critically acclaimed film starring actress-singer Maris Racal, will finally hit Philippine cinemas this July without cuts.</p><p>The film was rated R-16 by the Movie &amp; Television Review &amp; Classification Board (MTRCB). </p><p>According to MTRCB website, &quot;Sunshine&quot; was rated R-16 for &quot;very sensitive themes that depict child abuse, child rape, drugs,  pre-marital sex, teen-age pregnancy and abortion that is not suitable for audiences below16 years of age.&quot;</p><p>&quot;Further discussion of these very sensitive topics are encouraged between families, especially teen-agers and young adults, as well as seeking guidance and counseling from professionals,&quot; it added. </p><p>In a social media post on Tuesday, June 3, Project 8 Projects, confirmed that &quot;Sunshine&quot; will be shown in local cinemas next month.</p><iframe class="instagram-media instagram-media-rendered" id="instagram-embed-2" src="https://www.instagram.com/p/DKb3QNSTaF5/embed/?cr=1&amp;v=14&amp;wp=540&amp;rd=https%3A%2F%2Fod2-workbench-web.abs-cbn.com&amp;rp=%2F#%7B%22ci%22%3A2%2C%22os%22%3A6505574.399999976%7D" allowtransparency="true" allowfullscreen="" frameBorder="0" height="879" data-instgrm-payload-id="instagram-media-payload-2" scrolling="no" style="background:white;max-width:540px;width:calc(100% - 2px);border-radius:3px;border:1px solid rgb(219, 219, 219);box-shadow:none;display:block;margin:0px 0px 12px;min-width:326px;padding:0px"></iframe><script async="" src="//www.instagram.com/embed.js"></script><p>Directed by Antoinette Jadaone, &quot;Sunshine&quot; follows the story of a young gymnast who finds out she is pregnant on the week of the national team tryouts.
