He will also be joined by Reign Parani and his fellow PBB Celebrity Collab housemate River Joseph, who will be the antagonist in the series.

In the same post, Emilio expressed his gratitude to the team behind the upcoming series, while sharing some snaps from their cast pictorial.

“Huge thank you to our director, direk @ivanpayawal, the entire cast, and the whole production team!! Couldn’t have asked for a better team and family to go through this with,” he expressed.

Under the direction of Ivan Andrew Payawal, Love at First Spike will be the first iWant original series in 2025.

The series is set to tackle important phases of Gen Z high school life and other sensitive issues including gender stereotypes, according to a press release by ABS-CBN.

Emilio will portray Uno, a former captain of the basketball varsity team who was kicked out and found a new home in the volleyball varsity team comprised mostly of members of LGBTQIA+ community.

In a previous interview with PUSH ABS-CBN, Emilio admitted that securing the major role had its own challenges.

“Nag-audition ako. Hindi po ako handpicked. Grabe, madami akong nakalaban na artista dito sa industriya. We were like 50 guys and sa awa ng Diyos, napili ako ni direk,” he said.

“Grabe, super super thankful and blessed ako! It’s a dream come true. Kasi siyempre as a young actor, siyempre ang goal is maging bida, maging leading man. So ito na po ‘yung pagkakataon ko maging isang leading man and maging bida sa isang teleserye,” he added.
