After getting the biggest break of his career with his role as Dave Navarro in the  Philippine adaptation of hit 2020 Korean drama series Start-Up in 2022, Jeric Gonzales continues to hone his craft as an actor. This year, he joins the cast of director Joel Lamangan’s upcoming film Fatherland where he plays the role of a sales agent named Rudy.

“This film is very timely kasi nga mag-e-election. Fatherland ang title kasi ang dami kasi niyang meaning. Napakalalim, kung titignan natin dito, father and the son ‘yung pinakaprimary niyang story, pero hindi. Kasi ipinapakita niya ‘yung society natin, ‘yung culture. May politics din, and then ‘yun, lahat na. Lahat tayo maraming matututunan dito. ‘Yun nga relevance dito sa nangyayari sa ‘tin, nasabi naman nila lahat. Siguro maging wise na tayo, alam naman natin ano ang nangyayari, sana tulungan natin ‘yung isa’t isa,” he shared during the Fatherland presscon.

When offered the role as one of the antagonists in the film, Jeric shared why he had no hesitation with the role. “Hindi, hindi po lalo na si Direk Joel ito at kasama ko dito ang napakagaling na aktor. It’s a challenge yes, always,” he admitted.

Jeric is also set to star in the movie Graduation Day which will be the directorial debut of Dante Balboa. “Thankful ako sa BenTria Productions, kay Direk Dante and the team, kasi ako po ‘yung napili nila dun sa character. And siyempre I promised them na I will give my best again, like ‘yung sa Broken Blooms, so challenging na heavy drama itong kuwento na ito pero napakaganda po ng i,” he added.
