MANILA — "My Love Will Make You Disappear," the romantic-comedy film starring Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino, continues to gain momentum in cinemas as it enters its second week.

Fans from all over the Philippines—and even abroad—have shown overwhelming support for the film, prompting Star Magic, ABS-CBN’s talent management arm, to host a special block screening in celebration of its success.

The lead stars, whose pairing is fondly called “KimPau” by fans, expressed their gratitude for the outpouring of love and support.

“We’re very thankful sa mga patuloy na nanunuod, sa mga nababasa namin online and nakakatuwa lang na sa iba’t ibang parte ng mundo na may Pilipino, pinapanood nila—so we’re very thankful. First time magpa-block screening, thank you Star Magic,” Chiu said.

“I’m very grateful because we are on our second week and we have 15 block screenings for today. I’m excited to see everyone, I’m excited to thank everyone personally for still watching the film on our second week,” Avelino added.

For both stars, the film’s success feels like an early birthday gift for Chiu's birthday on April 19. Avelino, meanwhile, turns a year older on May 13.

“Yes, oo naman. Nakakagulat lang na ang dami pa ding bumabalik sa sinehan and with our genre na romcom, so we’re very happy. Happy birthday na siya for me,” Chiu said.

“It’s one of the best early birthday gifts I could ask for. I’m very thankful to everyone,” Avelino said.

The two are set to fly to Dubai for a series of international screenings in partnership with The Filipino Channel (TFC).

“It’s an event by TFC. We’re gonna go there to do cinema screening as well, makapagpa-picture, at mapuntahan namin ‘yung mga nagpa-block screening din sa Dubai kasi napakarami din,” Avelino shared.

The pair hopes to visit more countries soon, aiming to bring "My Love Will Make You Disappear" to Filipino communities around the globe.
