MANILA -- "Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition" housemate Klarisse de Guzman made headlines after revealing to her co-housemates that she is bisexual. Klang, as her close friends call her, shared that she has been in a relationship with another girl named Trina, for four years already.

Speaking exclusively to ABS-CBN News, her girlfriend Trina expressed her reaction after that admission on national television. 

“Super proud nung last night nung napanood ko. I can't help, naiyak po talaga ako. Finally freedom naibigay na kay Klang po after how many years,” Trina said.

Trina said it wasn’t planned but “we talked about it po bago siya umalis pero hindi po clear kung mag-a-out siya totally. Kasi for me naman po okay na po ako na tago kami kasi okay naman na po sa family namin kasi sila naman po 'yung number one na magsu-support sa amin eh.”

None of De Guzman’s peers, friends, colleagues in ABS-CBN or "ASAP" knew about her gender orientation except for a few friends like Bugoy Drilon, Liezel Garcia and their families.  

“Siguro hirap na rin po siya at hirap na ring magtago. Kasi binabanggit niya sa akin na 'pag tinatanong siya hindi na niya alam kung ano ang isasagot. Dinadaan na lang niya sa jokes,” Trina said.

Trina was on the edge of her seat while watching the "PBB" episode. And while it wasn’t planned, she already had a gut feel that the reveal was about to happen when Michelle Dee entered the house as a house guest.

“Nung time na pumasok si Michelle Dee, I knew it already. Kasi I saw Michelle joined Miss Universe, so I know advocate siya ng LGBT din before.”

How they met

Like most couples nowadays, Klarisse and Trina met via Instagram. Trina was 22 then while Klarisse was 28 when the singer first messaged Trina. 

In 2020, Klarisse slid into Trina’s DM’s (direct message) and sent a ‘fire’ emoji. Trina, obviously surprised, replied ‘shookt. Is this real?’

Trina knew who Klarisse was because “kasi 'yung family ko po sa dad side ko po sa UAE, so they’re always watching TFC. So tutok po sila sa Kapamilya.” 

“Nag-meet kami after a few months, kasi mahigpit po noon (during the pandemic lockdown),” said Trina.  

A few more months after their meet-up, they became an official couple. But Trina said the road to where they are now wasn’t smooth.

“I can say na-test rin po talaga kung paano kami as a partner. Kasi it wasn’t easy. We go out normal, we don't do super close sa labas. I’m happy kasi more on growth na yung gusto namin. Plans, business things,” she said.

Trina didn’t mind that they hid their relationship status to the public. What mattered most to both of them was the acceptance and support from their family. 

“Iba po kasi yung family, parang mas buo yung pagkatao ko rin nung naging malaya si Klang,” she said.

“Iba po 'yung feeling. Kasi kung hindi ka tanggap ng ibang tao, pero 'yung mga tao sa paligid mo tanggap ka, hindi ka matatakot. Hindi ka matatakot na mag-express ng totoo mong nararamdaman,” she added.
