After almost four years of hiatus, Angelica Panganiban returns to acting and will be part of "Maaalaala Mo Kaya’s" second episode featuring BINI Sheena’s life story. 

While away from the limelight, Panganiban focused on raising her first child and her family. But now, the time felt right for the first-time mom and the project, as well. 

“Siyempre 'MMK' siya, palagi naman siyang privilege kapag meron talagang ino-offer sa 'yo na ganitong klaseng project. Hindi siya mahirap mag-say 'Yes' kasi very close siya sa akin, naka-relate ako sa kanya kahit papaano.”

Panganiban will give life to the mother of BINI Sheena, who played a significant role in Sheena’s dreams and pre-BINI life. The Kapamilya actress said her being a mother now made her realize and connect with the offered role.  

“Isa na rin akong mom ngayon, and recently I also lost my mother. Nung nabasa ko 'yung script, naramdaman kong kaya ko siyang gawin,” she said.

But admittedly, she felt mixed emotions when she first stepped on the set, again. “Pero mas grabe 'yung kaba. Talagang kabadong-kabado ako, hindi ko mapaliwanag 'yung tensyon na nararamdaman ko sa buong katawan ko, marami akong self doubts, tapos marami akong iniisip kung kaya ko pa ba talaga?”

She added, “Then of course, excited ako kasi ang tagal kong hinintay na makabalik sa acting dahil yun din naman talaga ang first love ko.”

Is this a sign that she’s going back 100% in showbiz? Panganiban replied, “Yes hopefully, ito yung 'istep by the istep' natin. So nakapag-step one na tayo, marami pa kong kailangan ayusin pero very happy that nakabuwelo na.”

BINI Sheena’s life story on MMK will premiere on May 1 on iWantTFC. And Panganiban assured the viewers that they will be inspired by how Sheena championed her life and her dreams to fruition. 

“'Yung kwento ni Sheena is very inspiring especially that it’s coming from love. Kung bakit siya nagpapatuloy ngayon, to inspire others na magtagumpay talaga. Lahat ng 'yun kasi nanggagaling from love and inspiration niya sa pamilya niya.”
