Lovi Poe to star in psychological horror movie ‘The Sacrifice’

Lovi Poe is set to star in a psychological horror movie titled The Sacrifice.

The actress will headline the film alongside Enchong Dee, Timothy Granaderos, Lav Diaz, and Pokwang.  

According to a report by Deadline, the movie follows a group of travel vloggers who stumble upon a remote village haunted by ancient rituals and a terrifying legend.

The film was written by Jerrold Tarog. Prime Cruz is directing the movie.

Production of The Sacrifice has commenced in the Philippines.

The film is produced under the C’est Lovi Productions of Lovi and her husband, British movie producer Montgomery Blencowe.

"Stay tuned — more cast members and familiar faces to be announced! 😉" Lovi posted on her Instagram page.

Fans online were quick to react to the news.  

"I am so looking forward to this project 🙌🏻 the cast is just awesome," one fan commented.

Lovi recently starred in the movie Guilty Pleasure, which she co-produced with Regal Entertainment.

In an interview back in October 2024, Lovi opened up about what inspired her to expand her career into producing films.

"What made me do this was actually, I always loved writing my own stories and concepts. I remember it started po with our film, Seasons, with Regal. I came up with that concept and then suddenly, it was just nice to be part of the process and then biglang may script na kami and then nagcast na and then everything just came together, and then we were taken on by Netflix," she shared.

Lovi also revealed her desire to take on more behind-the-scenes roles, including writing scripts for her future projects under C’est Lovi Productions.

“I was just like, ‘Wow, I can keep doing this’ kasi there are so many stories I want to tell and showcase and eventually get into scriptwriting," she stated.
